Root Root Verizon Xoom to flash Wifi ROM for ICS

So I own the Verizon 3G version of the Xoom however I do not have a subscription plan with Verizon and only use it on Wifi. So I am wondering if I can actually flash the Wifi version ROM in order to get the OTA update of Ice Cream Sandwich. Is such a thing even possible and how do I do it?

I am actually not looking for an ICS ROM. I am looking to trick the update service into thinking I have the WiFi version so that I get the Motorola updates OTA instead of waiting for Verizon to release their version.
