If so, then you've already waved your warranty rights at htcdev.com. Consider it voided.I'm on the last stage of unlocking my bootloader. I've had this phone for maybe a couple of months, is it worth it risk voiding the warranty? Or is the "voiding your warranty" just to scare you![]()
They have you're phone's EMEI# which you uploaded to get the unlock code, so even if you revert the bootloader, they still know you've done it and your warranty is still void.Hah! You can always lock it again later on.

So, Hawky222, you may as well finish the job!
Now that you have unlocked your bootloader, S-OFF isn't necessary. You can root, install custom ROMs, whatever.
Worked like a charm!I tried using that guide also at first, but one click methods don't seem to work for me for some reason, maybe it's a MetroPCS thing for me, who knows. Anyway, I used this guide - [TUTORIAL][ROOT] How to root your HTC Wildfire S? - xda-developers. But I used this - Download CWM_Recovery_5.0.2.6.zip from Sendspace.com - send big files the easy way for my recovery instead. It was just easier for me, because all you have to do with that recovery file is unzip it on the desktop and then run the recovery.bat, while the phone is plugged in, with USB debugging on and charge only. It will open up a cmd window and do the rest for you.
And then you can follow that guide from step 2. I wanted something easy, like a one click method, but as said, they didn't seem to work.
