what about the battery life? i know that it all depends on the use, but on average?
No lag no reboots no complaints great phone going to get one for my wife right now
i had the same issue. I did find out that the metro "visual Voicemail" app is the cause of it, some bugs need to be work out with that program.Only two problems i can report is that silly voicemail icon that won't go away and every once on a while i have data transfer issues.
Oh yeah, I'm on Metro PCS.
I am new to Metro coming from Verizon.
1 - I'm amazed how often I lose network connections. To this point I'm not sure if the $60 plan is worth it. I can't imagine being able to use more than 1gb of data since in most cases I can't connect to 4g. This is while I'm driving. When I'm at the office or at home, i can always use wifi.
2. People have complained that the power button is too small. I do not have a problem with this.
3. I do not like that the volume buttons are on the left. Every other phone I have ever owned they have been on the right.
4. My wife has the Esteem, the connects screen is only .3" smaller, but when you are only talking about 4"s to begin with, this odes make a difference.
5. I have not had any reboot issues.
6. I still have to look through the settings, but when I am on a call and another call comes through, the screen does not turn on to let me see who is calling, I have to hit the power button to see who is trying to reach me.
7. The battery takes forever to charge and I have NEVER been able to get over a 99% charge. This is minor and I don't know if the % matters, but the time to charge is way to long.
Just my thoughts.
Is everybody who is replying on MetroPCS ?
I don't have this phone, but it's my understanding that Metro is the only company that has this phone, so anyone replying saying that they have the phone would have to be on Metro. At least, that's what I believe.
I was told by LG that Verizon has it under a different name, and LG said that it has much fewer problems.
Just compared the iPhone to the Connect. The iPhone won. They are close in size, but the iPhone:
• had a brighter screen and the whites were whiter
• better contrast
• smoother rotations when turning the phone
• on speech to text, the iPhone did proper punctuation and automatic capitalizations. The Connect did not, although the Connect had a slightly better accuracy.
• the Apple keyboard had a ".com" key on the keyboard when using a browser. My Connect does not have a .com key at all. Can anyone make the keyboard have a .com key ??
• Siri was able to do many things by voice commands
• Over 20 minutes, my Connect battery gauge went down by 20%. The Apple battery gauge did not move at all
The above is in addition to all the problems I've found with the Connect.
Couple questions, the screen brightness, did you adjust the brightness settings on the Connect, because the NOVA display it has is one of the(if not the) brightest screens on the market, it is also the same type of IPS display that the iPhone has. The LG keyboard sucks, get the Gingerbread keyboard from the market, has better voice recognition and has a .com button when on the web. The battery life is going to be shorter than the iphone, that's the nature of LTE no real way around that unless you turn off 4G. IRIS on the market blows the over rated SIRI out of the water.
EDIT: Yes the iPhone display only has 500 nits of brightness, compared to the NOVA display which has over 800 nits of brightness so yes the NOVA display is in fact brighter.
is this your first android phone?
Thank you for your help. This is my second Android. I've posted about the Esteem in this forum and the big time difficulties I had. Finally LG agreed with all the defects and came up with a major upgrade, but rumor is that it did not correct all the problems.
Just for fun, here are a few small gems to try on your Connect:
1. see if you can dictate a phone number in the TO field of a message
2. if you have contacts stored, try dictating that contact via the microphone and see if the TO field gets filled in
3. now, once you have phone number in the TO field and you've made a message and the phone is in portrait view (tall upright), change the phone to landscape mode. BOOM. That green button turns grey as if it's not active. Turn it back to portrait and the SEND button goes back to green.
