hey, well i got the htc dream rogers.
and i wanted to know what i can do to my dream to make it like super good and make it much better then the standard HTC dream you get from roghers, like application, functions, features, and etc. i heard about all the cool stuff u can install like HTC Hero on it, the cupcake update, and like all the other stuff.

and i was also wondering, how can u save your applictaions on the the SD card, instead of the phone.

thanks :)

First, welcome to the Forums.... and second to add all those features and the ability to switch roms/builds like Swizz said you need to root...

I just got one last question. I heard if i root my phone i can lose contact with my sevice proivider is that true, will i be still able to conect with rogers and go on 3g

Like it has been said many times before .... Carriers dont care whether you root or not ... they want your monthy fees...

Maybe the Only exception if what seems to be the (APPLE of carriers = ROGERS) control freaks it seems from the posts here

i am only on step one i am lost
- Format the Micro SD Card to FAT32.
- Copy the DREAIMG.nbh file to the Micro SD Card.
- With the phone off, hold camera and press power to boot into the bootloader.
- Once the bootloader is loaded, press power to install.
- Press the trackball to continue and press talk+menu+power to reboot.

i did the first 3

I am with rogers, is that probably why?

I donno, what is the diffarance between the rogers and vodafone?

From what I get, it's the same HTC, so why should be a difference?

It is just a piece of hardware where normally, you could put any OS you wanted... preferable android cause it is open source, so I'll be fun programming to.

but I'm fighting with my vodafone as well  couldn't progress beyond:

c:\Users\Desktop>fastboot boot update-testkeys-CRB28-full-v1.img
creating boot image...
creating boot image - 36478976 bytes
downloading 'boot.img'... OKAY
booting... FAILED (remote: reproduce boot image with on-flash ramdisk error)
