I am sure there is a proximity sensor on there, but they usually are hard to see.

Wow, I'm not even sure what to say after seeing the pics. I like new tech as much as the next guy, but having flashy red on the phone makes it seem gimmicky. On the ram issue, unless it's hidden, maybe this is a mid-tier phone after all and we can expect an HD2 variant to be sold under Verizon in the coming months as the flagship...not that I'd wait any longer than I already have though.
I wonder if there's a way to replace the rocker button and usb connector without having to resort to painting. Geez, you could spot this phone a mile away with all that red on it....which is probably what Verizon is looking to accomplish.

And I'm sure all of our collective families and significant others appreciate the fact that we go here to do that, rather than talking about the phone to them... because we all have a problem.
er... uh... um... well.... I do talk to my wife about this stuff... I noticed she kinda glazes over though.

you can buy a new phone every year... so it only has to be sufficient for one year

Ruben, not sure if you're addressing me. And once again...don't want to come off as an a$$. I actually like the rumor mill. I enjoy off topic posts...and I don't care about grammar. And I am easy if someone wants to complain or get excited about something. I just have a beef with people trying to justify the POSSIBLE acceptance of a lower spec phone. After all....so many people are WAITING for this phone with great expectations. And my point has been that while you can have these expectations it's wrong to think they were ever set in stone....and it's wrong (at least as far as I'm concerned) to take a phone just because it's all we can get from Verizon. Maybe it's a false sense of entitlement but I believe Verizon customers deserve as good of a phone as TMobile, AT&T, and possibly Sprint. And let's not forget the rest of the world. So...if Verizon fails to deliver, as is their right, then why reward them by settling? I'm not so superior....heck I really don't know what I will do...but I haven't waited all these months just to buy an Incredible disappointment. I hope it's not.

You can buy an unlocked phone every month, but I'm not willing to pay for it, just like I'm not willing to pay extra for waiting only one year

I've learned to keep my mouth shut... they think i'm nuts. ("just buy a damn phone already!") She's probably right.
On VZW? Isn't New Every Two? Buy the way my new every two became eligible 2/22/10..does that $50 credit expire? If this incredible isnt the end all be all we thought and is more a mid tier phone and i cant use it for the N1, is the SS or another phone coming to VZW early summer?

as long as you re-up for another 2 years each year, you can buy the phone at subsidized cost each year.

No Steve...I didn't take you the wrong way. I just don't really have anything constructive to say...just ranting. And I mean no real harm...it was a vent. And I'm still here! I guess I'm just as impatient and wound up as the next guy...or girl...but really guy!

NE2 does not expire, no. And how do you like that! 50 instead of 100 now! NE2 is for the credit of 50 bucks... which you will lose if you buy a new phone each year.. but you can buy a new phone each year at subsidized price as long as you re-up for another 2 years each time. You don't have to take a 1 year contract price.... presuming you dont mind being locked in perpetually...

Here's the kicker she wants this phone also when it comes out. She is on AT&T right now with a Blackjack windows mobile. I have a LG Voyager, we just want something new!
How much more is it for a 1 year contract? and if you do a 1 year contract do you still get a New Every 2 Discount? Verizon of course

I was unaware that you could get the 2 year price after only a year....I wouldn't mind giving up the $50 for newer tech every year.

no you lose the NE2... I'm not sure of the price diff, you can check easily on VZ's site though.. It's cheaper to re-up for 2 years each time and buy a new phone each year than it is to buy it at one year contract price...

Just so people know, Moto's DROID has 256MB ram...
That makes their insurance pretty much worthless due to the 90$ deductible.
