Root opinion

I am thinking of getting a charge for a backup in case I screw up my rezound. I've only rooted/romed HTC's as yall can see by my sig. Question I guess is what is the general feeling with device? I don't see many Rom's in the sticky's and I looked on xda and seems they have an ics Rom or two.

The Charge is a good device IMO. There aren't any fully functional ICS Roms for it yet and may never be. But the couple of choices of GB rom's available (Eclipse, Tweakstock, Infinity) are good one's. I'm running Eclipse and am pleased with it. No lag at all. Quadrant scores aren't the highest, but those don't matter really to real world performance anyway.

I've had very few issues with my Charge. Battery life is great. Does everything I need it to. Rooting and Romming the Charge is a breeze and it's almost impossible to brick it. You gotta really want to brick this phone or be really really bad at following directions.
