yeah I saw it earlier... It's a rumor like everything else. Plus I didn't want anyone to have a heart attack

I agree I read that and thought it was a summary of all the posts in this thread, anyone could of come up with that article based on the information here and it's all rumor until VZW or HTC come out and say something.

truth my friend

Also, I agree with all those saying test units MAY not represent final hardware. We're also failing to consider that more RAM isn't always better. While I realize the tech industry often takes a position of "who cares if we write slow, clunky, bulky code. people can just get more RAM", it could well be that Google *gasp* decided to code more efficiently in Android 2.1. Not saying I don't want more though... ^_^

But I think it is a good point that test models go through various phases, builds, and designs. If an early model is being used to test a feature irrelevant to the camera, why spend the money on the high end final product? Slap in a 5mp cam you've got laying around from another phone. It only makes sense to strip things down to a minimum for specific testing.

EDIT: also, to avoid a double post, I humbly submit this. An article by slashdot about the ease of programming on Android phones. Easier, more avoidable coding = better code over time.

Sorry, I'm still confused.. I know someone answered this before, but in the pic below, the thing circled in green... Thats a reflection? I could see the other white thing being one, but this? Man my eyes must be bad lol

Edit: It looks like a decal.. Like those ones on cars that makes it look like a baseball smashed into the window.. lol I dunno why, but it does to me

It's the reflection of a light source, such as a lamp or a light fixture. Trust me, it's not "on" the phone. It's a reflection.

Good points. I would think most test units don't represent final hardware... That's the point of testing right??

Plus its been said before online in articles that verizon does some serious testing

Haha, I'm entirely too obsessed with this board. Got a snow day today, so my time consists of pressing F5 on this page repeatedly lol

Also, is it just me, or have we added 12 pages in 24 hours

What does everyone think of creating a discussion thread, and an official news thread?

It is so hard to keep up with the actual "news" about this phone with all the questions and discussions scattered in with any new details about the phone?

100% sure even though it hasn't been officially released?

I agree with you like 85% though. The N1 looked the same from testing photos to the final product. I have a feeling it will be too. That's rough

I had the opportunity to see the Incredible up close. The back is blazing red. Think VZ colors.

Eh, they'll both end up like this and the info will be double posted and fragmented. I think it's better to eave things as is, personally.

^^^^^^^^^ Taiwan I think

Correct

Nice. Can you tell us anything else about the physical specs? How thick? Physical buttons? Also, when did you get to see it?

^^ Get proof buddy or you'll be in for a long ride.

And firing squad??! How inhumane.

Hahaha! No joke! I mean, I've seen the Incredible up close too. I saw it up close on my computer in a bunch of leaked pictures and a video about a month ago. So...as someone who has also seen the Incredible up close, I can confirm that he is correct. The back is blazing red. +1 ;)

Haha, didn't think of that. Still, I'm game to listen ^_^

;) At this point the only information someone could really give us is that something MAJOR has changed from the pre-production version of the Incredible to the official release version, and they'd have to give us proof such as pictures.

So, until someone comes in here who has some NEW information on this phone, we, having seen the phone already in pictures and video, know as much about the specs and appearance of this phone as anyone who has "seen it" in person. Right? Right.

Not trying to be rude or hateful, but it's just a fact.

Ouch, I feel hurt and that wasn't directed towards me......harrrrrsh </sarcasm>

No offense taken, Nash. With all due respect though, information like thickness is something we only have a rough visual comparison on. I'd still like to hear about that, how it feels when held, weight, etc. Still can be easily BS'd, of course, but we can't shoot down every contributor we get, nor can we believe them all. We're pretty good around here at identifying BS when we see it. Let him spill any "info" he's got and take it from there. Yeah?

I'm sorry... Here ya go. ;)

No, I wasn't AT ALL saying that I didn't believe him. I was just saying that if he "got a chance to see it" that isn't really anything more ground breaking than what we've seen. Honestly, I bet we've seen it more close-up than he has. Of course I welcome new information, but telling us the back is blazing red isn't exactly new news, is it? Maybe he hasn't read this entire thread (it IS long). So, maybe he hasn't seen that we've seen pictures and video of it already and we've known the back is red for over a month now.

On the contrary, if he has some information that we don't already know, I'm sure we'd all love to hear it.
