It was plugged into the wall socket. Yeah those arrows were not like the original arrows I got when the update first tried to install. These arrows were diagonal and larger than the curved ones were.

I am going to let Waldo rest, wish him well and I will deal with him tomorrow :). I am glad that the update is showing up for us. Nice way to end an evening. We should all hug our little SB2's they've been dissed until now, poor things, LOL.

It's a NEW DAY and we're being updated!!!
 
YAY!! lol Ill plug mine in and see what happens either way im all ready getting a replacement phone but it doesn't hurt to try.

Thank you for starting this it worked I just needed a stronger signal

I too did what you did last night it didnt work this morning it worked I had a stronger signal at work
 
I actually received the update last night. I i plugged it in the computer and when the battery got over 50% i cut it off for a few minutes. I cut it back on and the red and blue arrows were there for about 2 minutes then it told me i had an update waiting to be installed. The problem i was having was that my sd card kept unmounting and it kept resetting my message tone to the stock tone 2 to 3 times a day. 12 hours later and it hasn't did it yet. I hope it stays like that
 
I received the update yesterday night, It started the device manager (red/blue arrows) and prompted me that my battery is not enough to do update (it was 46% only) so postpone it for 3 hours once the phone was charged and started in the morning. It hung at the 60% level but restart of the phone kicked it off again from 50% and it finished the update.

As someone mention earlier in the thread this what it looks like after the update, I got about the phone added in settings as well:

My hope is that this will fix the dropped call 3G issue I am having, due to this I have to force my phone most of the time on Edge.
 
Quick question, after we got the update are we stuck with stock touchwhiz for now or can we still use the root/other rom scripts that have been previously posted?
 
Well I got the update, at least it is in progress. The phone informed me it was ready to update. I said yes and it rebooted. I've been staring at and animated "android" logo for about 10 minutes now. How long should this take?

Can anyone confirm that the 3G location by radio has been fixed and no longer shows up as being near Lake Tahoe?

If you got the update, you should be seeing not the flashy android logo, but the slowly pulsing Samsung logo. If its stuck, you're phone might be borked. I'd say pull the battery and start it back up to see what happens. If that doesn't work, try to factory reset via vol down+send call+end call and then home once the graphic shows. And then if that doesnt work, phew, there is odin.

So far, battery draining like a sieve. Must re-install app killer or something. I was running an app killer prior to the Tmo Rep's wipe of my phone. The phone is simply sitting here draining like crazy. So, something needs to shut down...We did a factory reset prior to the update so, none of my "helper apps" are on my phone anymore.

I also notice an extra page on dial-out. I don't understand why it is accessing this extra page. Normally I have my dialer and connect pages. Now, I get dialer page (input), connecting page (status) and an extra dialer page with a "#" sign in the dialer area - THEN it connects the call. Wierd.
 
@NowVoyager - did your GPS turn on. I have seen over the last week (prior to getting the update) that GPS was just deciding to turn itself on. The battery would then begin draining at least twice as fast as normal.
