Eris 2.1 leak Bug's and Fixes

I updated last night, put the phone to charge at 1:30 AM.
When I unplugged phone and went past the unlock screen it had an authentication error notification and asked me to log in to both of the google accounts that I have set up on the phone.
 
have you guys done factory resets yet or rebooted at least? i want to make sure it is a real bug and not a quirk before it is added to the list.
 
So, here's an interesting development:

-MY- contact card is synced with my facebook. When I click a contact, there is an option to link to facebook, but no one shows up. I have about 1,100 friends, so I'm told maybe it just takes long?

I did the *228 and the phone rebooted, when it came back up it gave me the authentication error notification, I entered my gmail password and everything was fine.

So, I powered down my phone (turn off, not sleep), when I turned it back on it came up just fine, didn't ask for a password. I opened the GMail app and it worked just like it's supposed to.
 
Ok so after a solid 24 hours of using/testing 2.1 I have found 2 major issues with the update. I apologize if any of these were mentioned but I did not see them listed on the first page under Caddy's known bugs, so let me know if you guys experience these!

1) Any link inside an app does not work. For example, clicking on a pic in a tweet in any twitter app does not work. Using Wapedia to search Wiki does not work. They all give a browser error message asking to reload. Can anyone else confirm this?

2) The second major issue I found is when you check the new built in battery use setting. It has shown me (twice) that the major thing draining the battery is Cell Standby (59%) and it shows a 50% time without signal. I have the used the phone in a known good coverage area. I have rebooted multiple times and even done a *228 to update the PRL. It happened again after all that showing only 50% of the time with a signal. Can anyone else check and confirm this is well?

I am trying to find as many issues as possible but those seem to be the only 2 major ones so far. I am loving everything else and my Eris as never been faster. Thanks guys.
 
For me 2.1 has been excellent. I'm enjoying better functionality from my phone in just about every aspect. The only issue I'm having is one I believe Wally just mentioned...

First of all I'm missing quite a few random contacts which is very odd, but it's not that many and nothing I can't figure out on my own. What's really really screwing with me is that I can't get my contacts to sync with facebook! I've tried just about every solution that's been posted on here so far but to no avail.

When I go to sync a contact and click for it to open my facebook friends it only shows about maybe 60 of the hundreds of friends I have on facebook. And of course none of those 60 are the people I actually have in my phone. It's really driving me crazy and is my one fault with 2.1 so far. If anybody can find a real solution for this one then please let me know!

oh yea! and I can't edit my contact card AT ALL! I haven't seen that mentioned before on here. When I click to open my contact card in People it just loads forever and never shows any information.

I can confirm #1 in the post above. I experienced this problem with Bank of America App and PhoneFlix App. When the app browses from within, you get an error message.
 
Quick/dumb question here. Is there a way to revert back to 1.5 if I find that I don't want to keep this leaked update? Please don't flame me!!

workaround is to use a 3rd party browser.

Installing this update IS a "factory reset".

All: Remember when VZW said early 2010 for this update ? Then we kept hearing later and later dates ? Can anyone guess why now ? :D People here had better know issues like this could exist and need to suck it up and live with it. I updated and will do what I say.... VZW CANNOT push this to hundreds of thousands of Eris phones and have to deal with the support issues.

What I would love to know is what build the official beta testers are running. Ours is a month old at this point.
 
Well the update file was corrupt/incomplete and was patched, the patch may have hosed a few things, i dont think there is a way to know for sure though
 
What nkt said though, everyone is on the exact same build, and some have issues, some dont, i have 0 issues other then the login issue on reboot, but i never reboot, so it's a non issue.

Well, Caddy isn't running the leak.

As for peripheral software, some of the issues can be tied to software that people have added AFTER the fact. I have heard of several issues related to bum apps causing all sorts of crazy problems. If you start having problems after installing an app, try uninstalling the last one you added and see if the issue goes away.
 
So I'm at work put my Eris side by side with another and it has full bars. Mine has one or two. Also right now it says damaged sd card so im in process of fixing that.

No, everyone who's posting here, making videos of their, etc are running the same build. HTC and VZW surely have a newer build that fixes some/many/most of these issues. If not, NO ONE will see 2.1 for the Eris anytime soon !

Go into DEBUG and see if the receive levels are the same. Could just be a display issue.

Or perhaps the ROM that everyone used is corrupted somehow...

I have nothing at all installed on my phone really and the gmail picture issue, google sign in issue, browser random close issue and a few others are occurring on my phone. How is it that Caddy isn't running the leak?? What exactly made him privileged enough to secure a legit copy?

We're beginning to see that browser issue a lot in here.

At first I thought maybe we were seeing an incompatibility with Dolphin or whatever. But no.. ..

I'm hoping that this and the many other posted issues are addressed/corrected before OTA comes around.
