Agreed, a lot of chat here, BUT I politely disagree. I said it before. It's Easy-Squeezy, Lemon-Peazy, to just look at the most recent page, rather than have another thread to read. (which, by the way, would also inevitably start getting cluttered)

The problem with just looking at the recent page is, this thread is getting so cluttered with just discussion or questions, that the recent page may not contain actual information found out about this phone, it could just be a page of discussion or "I hope it has this, or it better have this much RAM...etc".

That was my point in saying one thread for discussion, one thread for actual news. I am sure the news would flow to the discussion thread, but the discussion shouldn't flow to the news thread. We are all smart enough to try to keep that thread clean I think.

Most of us have followed this phone for quite some time now and have opted to wait for this phone because of its specs. I know for me I was interested back in Nov. with the Droid, but instead I decided to wait because I heard rumors of a new phone called the Bravo. The rest is history. I don't want to speak for everyone, but for me "the big fuss" is all about the specs. If Verizon doesn't sell the N1 directly, the Incredible will be the only phone Verizon carries at this time with these specs. :D

Speaking on my own behalf I have been waiting for a few reasons:

Specs (as androidoholic stated) were definitely first and foremost. I also have had issues with Motorola phones in the past thus the Droid is a no go for me. I also didn't like the look and feel of the Droid. I am one of the people that doesn't care if it comes w/ or w/o a physical keyboard, I just think the Droid was hideous and clunky. The Eris has too small a screen and outdated hardware. Thus I am now here at the crossroads deciding between the N1 and Incredible. To me HTC makes some of the nicest looking devices on the market. Tie that in with Android w/Sense and great specs and it's a hard phone to pass up.

Anyways, I apologize for being kind of long-winded and perhaps incoherent, it's early still and it is Friday haha.

Cheers.

Definitly one of the reasons I passed on the Droid as well, I just didn't like its look.

I totally agree. I want a sleek, light-weight, fast phone with the newest or close to newest OS. Keyboard isn't important to me. If the N1 isn't in store and the Incredible doesn't pan out for what I want, I may go Eris. Dunno yet. I'm not nearly as involved with the phones as all of you. I just want it for some apps, casual web browsing when out, txt messaging, and of course calling. I don't care about games or any of the more in-depth stuff. Now maybe if I get a bad@ss phone that will change lol

There might be hope yet for a late March delivery date. Desire is going live an April 1st in the UK. Unless they don't care about the multi-touch issues I'm kinda assuming Desire has the same screen as Incredible and the N1.

HTC Desire, Legend and HD Mini show up on Amazon UK, expected to arrive on April 1 -- Engadget

Saw this too. Desire/N1/Incredible reportedly all have the same screens - So maybe this says that the multi-touch issue is now resolved? Which would give some kind of merit to the claims that VZW customer support personnel have begun receiving N1 training. ;)

As Shawn said it wont matter. This thread started as an info only thread and looked what happened. You're other choice is to post each news item as a separate thread.

I was looking at the pictures taken by Devdroidian, and it looks to me like the Incredible is not nearly as thick as some people were saying. In the first pic below:

Next, assuming these phones are in the same position as the last photo, look at how much of the left side of the G1 can be seen even though the Incredible is right next to it:

To me, it looks like the Incredible is much thinner.

Devdroidian, how would you compare the two in terms of thickness, and how about the Incredible compared to the N1?

Sorry if this has been pointed out already, I couldn't find any posts discussing the shadows.

Looking at the 1st pic, taken from a camera angle directly over both phones, the Incredible has a smaller shadow... only possible if it's thinner than it's buddy to the right.

Do we know what network in UK? Or is it all networks. If it Vodafone, don't forget they have 45% stake in VZW, right? So that might give even more credibility to our late march launch..

It really isn't about being lazy, it is about not reading the same questions over and over again that no one has the answers to yet.

Nobody knows how much RAM this will have for sure. Nobody knows the MegaPixels of the Camera for sure. Etc...

But you know there are at least one or two posts a day asking about that and other things.

It was just a suggestion, not everyone has the amount of time to stay glued to this thread 24/7 as others so I thought it might be helpful.

Looks thinner to me, I don't think the thickness of this phone is going to be an issue. I can't see it being too thick that I would't want it. I believe it will be along the line of the N1 in regards to thickness. My 2 cents.

Nice find. I wanna say the Incredible is going to be no more than .55 thick.. Now the back cover wasn't on in those pictures so it might make it thicker. I think that was mentioned before. My eyes are like  from reading all the posts lol.

Let's hope it only weighs like 4.75 ounches, possibly 4.55. That'd be nice. The 5.9 ounce Droid and Devour are too heavy for me. Call me a wussy boy if you want, but I don't care haha

Not necessarily. Two reasons, first the light source is coming from top right, the G1 chin will give off bigger shadow from that angle, and it's already been said the HTC phone didn't have the back on when these pics were taken. Back on will add some more depth, but Incredible is still thinner, by how much, we don't know yet. :)

I think everyone agrees with you or sees eye 2 eye with you. It would be nice to have a summary at the bottom or something. But I think we all realize if a new thread was started it would eventually end up like this thread.

There is no way to monitor every post before it gets posted, like by a mod or something (not that they would want to do that lol). And even if you could you'd have some posts and not others, it'd get confusing. People would complain. Plus everyone is already used to coming to this thread.

Maybe people could bold in their posts, new stuff? or something like that if they want. I dunno.

Actually the G1 has a "Chin" like the desire coming out, so it would make the shadow longer if the light source was coming from above it.

I agree the pics show the Incredible is thinner and it is probably resting on the thickest point (the camera i presume) so the phone will feel thinner than that without a case.

For better or worse, Verizon is well known for having a more intense testing period for new phones than most other carriers. Personally I don't think a release date for a similar phone in Europe can be used as an indicator for when a similar phone will show up on Verizon.

Also, I hadn't heard that VZW support have been receiving N1 training. Is that accurate? I don't know how I would have missed that on here...

Plus the angle of that picture is a little misleading. The phone in front is going to def. look thinner because we're not looking at it level.

Now if the G1 was first and part of the Incredible was being over shadowed by it (cause of the angle) then it would be clearer that the Incredible is thinner.. Know what I mean?

Yesterday someone was told by a VZW rep over the phone, and a tech. was asked at that store who over heard the convo, and said the techs are receiving training.

I don't doubt the forum member was told that, but I feel like we'd would have seen or should see soon leaks on the net that VZW techs are receiving training and support training on the phone. I know I've read that in the past with other phones.

Untill I hear something Official about how they will sell and service the N1 it is hard to believe what is being said, personnally I was told by a VZW rep that their are not handling the sales of the N1. Who knows, I truly don't think the reps have a clue right now.

I think this chip will make a phone be incredible. But for us on verizon will be 2 years from now.

I'm kind of surprised your post hasn't received more comment. I can't wait for the Scorpion...my wife is already being EXTREMELY patient and it's been difficult for me as well. We want to ditch our Katana's and step into the smart phone world...but want to move on the N1, Incredible, etc. One thing that video shows though, if you watch to the very end, is that the Scorpion will be out late this year....and it will be Balazing fast! So after our 2 year contract is up and it's time to get another phone...I think we will not have to wait so long for an awesome upgrade.

FWIW....I'm starting to lose faith that we will end up with the Incredible...as it doesn't APPEAR that it will offer significant advantage over the N1...and it will indeed be too sporty and themed in it's appearance. The Desire on the other hand...is one fine looking phone! Almost makes me want to run traitor to AT&T....even though I despise them.

Happy Friday all - after sitting at work all morning hitting "refresh" every ten minutes, I thought maybe it was time to contribute a thought or two.

Other than the RAM amount, it seems like one of the main concerns is the camera quality of the Incredible. I don't claim to be an expert on hardware, but I know a few things about cameras and would recommend reading this article by David Pogue of the NY Times. If you dont want to read that whole thing, at least check out the last few paragraphs re: cameraphones.

Simply put, megapixels can be misleading, especially in cameraphones. Personally, I would prefer a 5MP camera over an 8MP, etc. What do you guys think?

Honestly, when I'm feeling too lazy to read the pages that I have missed I just click through them and read the posts that have "Thanks." Let's face it, if anyone comes out with good info they will be thanked by multiple people. It's a feature that I'm really glad androidforums has added. Try it out, it might just pan out to be quick and simple enough for you.
