Help Will not hold charge and overheating.

Brand new phone had it just since middle of January... three weeks ago it started overheating.. and charge suddenly dropped. Charged it all night and only went up to 46%.. charge died in about an hour and phone was incredibly hot. Took it into Rogers and they sent it away for repairs. Came back 10 days later and the report said they found no reasons for it to have happened and that the phone passed all tests.

I have had it back for 5 days and it's already doing the same thing..
 
Check Settings | Battery and let us know what the top three battery users are (with percentages). That information will help us troubleshoot your battery drain.

Looks like you are in a weak signal area based on that Cell Standby number. I'm not positive if there is an interrelationship with phone idle though. That number is really high though, let me dig a little.
 
thanks. It stopped for a couple days but it's doing it again. Not as hot but the charge is just draining so fast and I'm not doing anything but texting. I turned off all applications that I didn't need too. And wifi is off.. so I don't understand it.
 
Been fine since I posted last and again it's doing it. I go through my running apps and turn off anything I don't think I absolutely need and it helps sometimes. But had a full charge and lasted me an hour maybe?

Cell standby - 48%
Phone idle - 33%
Display - 20%
Wifi - 2%
 
won't even charge now. and it's SUPER hot. Been plugged in for an hour and a half.. was at 20% when I plugged it in and it's only at 33% now. Getting so frustrated. And my service provider says there's nothing wrong with it. I don't know what else to do.
 
The same thing is happening to me man. It happened all of a sudden out of the blue it overheated to the point where it would start to hurt when i held it, and the charge was going away so fast i when I had it plugged in it went up only 5% over 5hrs. Did you ever fix it? Now i cant turn mine on because it wont even charge.
 
Yeah I fixed it. Don't let anything sync. Syncing was my main problem I think. Then also turn off the 3g network and use 2g. Sometimes it will still happen... for a day or two but it always stops and works again normally after.. I think it's just a lemon or something.
