This thread is getting like a crack whore with an addiction. We keep reading all these posts and get little leaks and bits of information and we all get more hooked and then when a day goes by with no news we start going through withdrawl. Well guess what, most likely nothing official will be before CTIA and that is what? 2-3 weeks? OH boy! This is gonna be rough lol

BTW, I finally got that e-mail through to VZW. I'll let you know the response. I haven't gotten one yet, but I should sometime today or tomorrow. They claim within 24 hrs. Last time it was like within 10 hrs. Maybe I'll get some quality info on the N1 and we can all breathe a little easier.

All these things: appearance, multitouch, lack of specs, cloak and dagger, ect. is really starting to make me want to just get it over with and buy a Droid. Right now, I don't see the Incredible being anything but a gimmick with gimmicky shape and color. I'm starting to feel like all of the other HTC phones coming soon to other carriers are much better that this phone. I cannot believe that this phone is in anyway a variant of the Desire.

LOL - Someone talk me out of it before I do something I'll regret.

Sadly, I find myself relating to JMKosmo's cynicism. I think the initial shots we've seen of the Incredible make it seem cheap and toy-ish, reminiscient of my red Game Boy.

I even swung by my VZW store yesterday to see if, just maybe, I could make the Droid work for me. I was still pondering this on the bus when the dude in front of me whipped out an N1. It was like the heavens parted and clarity was restored. I chided myself for my doubt and have resolved to wait - at least until the N1 is released. By that time, I feel that the Incredible details will be firmed up enough to make a rational choice. Hang in there, JMKosmo. 3 weeks(ish) isn't that long to wait.

Hey guys I've been lurking on here for a while soaking up all the info I can.

The red backplate isn't something that turns me off of the phone, but in areas where you have to use a hands free kit to talk on the phone in the car the fire engine red back plate might make it pretty obvious you are on the phone when you hold that up to your ear. If you don't have the hands free kit that is.

Not a real complaint but just a thought.

Most phones come with Hands free kit anyways. Get a blue tooth though, I get nervous when I see someone holding their cellphone in the car talking.

Verizon to release Nexus One on March 23? | Android Atlas - CNET Blogs

The rumors are thickening.

If we started a rumor that all phones released after May 2010 were required to have a fluorescent backplate, how long before it gets put up on engadget?

Well, if Apple has their way, all phones might have to have fluorescent backplates. Non-fluorescent backplates are probably patented.

I am no patent expert, but I thought you can't grant patents so general. Anyone with me here? A gesture to unlock a phone? Well, why don't you see Windows Mobile, WebOS, etc...? This runs into everyone. And how long are these patents for? Anyone know?

Does anyone believe this will affect the Incredible?

Btw, CHANGE THE BACKPLATE HTC!

Why by a phone with a slide out keyboard that sucks and you'd never use?

Personally I love the Swype keyboard have had it on my WinMo phone and plan to keep on using it as long as I can even on Android.

Me too, I was thinkong there was eith an error or we just said screw this we have maybe 3 weeks before CITA lets take a break!

Okay......take this for what you want but I just called VZW in regards to the 30 day refund (want to get Droid but if I do I want to be able to return if the N1 or Incredible drops on the 23rd) and the VZW rep said "The Nexus 1 is the next device to come to Verizon """GUARANTEED"""" but there is no date listed and the only thing the intranet does is direct them to say there is no guaranteed date.

That being said she could not tell me the date BUT THIS IS THE BIG PART......according to her (and a data technician and marketing dude nearby after I asked) the device will be sold online through Google.......AND BY VERIZON!! Now does that mean VZW online or Brick and mortar? She did not say but the tech people have been going through the support training for the N1 so she said that she thinks that means both.

As for the Incredible. Nothing on the Intranet and if she does an internal search it only takes her to Phonescoop and other blogs to make sure she is not saying anything "wrong" (which could mean certain things are leaked on purpose by VZW) IMO. Hope this gives someone something to think about.
Honestly, I think any VZW rep that says the N1 will be sold in stores is confused. Anyone beside me notice that everyone who has made this claim hasn't even heard of the HTC Incredible? I believe that the N1 wil be sold ONLINE ONLY through Google as has already been previously stated by both Google and Verizon. The Incredible will be VZW's "version" of the N1 which will be sold BY VERIZON ONLY. After, it was the HTC INC ADR6300 spotted in Verizon's inventory system, not the HTC NEX ADR6300.

So do you think all of the reps/techs we've heard make that claim were talking out of their @sses? I'm just curious what could have made all these people say that.

I also think the fact that it's been previously stated by google and verizon makes it a sure thing - but with all these claims, I have a bit of hope.

Yeah I agree too. I hope it comes in store. I e-mailed VZW asking this specifically and am waiting to hear the response I get. The customer service rep who e-mailed me back about the Incredible def. confirmed that phone, so we'll see what I get on the N1.

A just-for-fun interruption
Dammit! you all are posting too fast! I have been 2-3 pages behind for the lst 2 hours. Sucks that I log in every evening and have like 6 pages of catch up to do, lol. I guess my own chit chat posts aren't helping my cause either.

Please save your comments about the poll and your prediction for that thread so this one doesn't get even faster on account of a self fulfilling prophecy :D
