If they also claim that they haven't even heard of the Incredible, then yes, that's exactly what I think. So do you think all of the reps/techs we've heard make that claim were talking out of their @sses?

So do you think all of the reps/techs we've heard make that claim were talking out of their @sses? I'm just curious what could have made all these people say that.
I also think the fact that it's been previously stated by google and verizon makes it a sure thing - but with all these claims, I have a bit of hope.

I've been reading this forum for about a week or so now, and I just spoke to Verizon, so I figured it was time to make my first post.
I just got off the phone with a Verizon customer service rep and asked if they had any new android phones coming out soon and if he's heard anything about the N1 or the Incredible. He said he didn't have any information about either. He then proceeded to tell me about the devour, which I told him I wasn't interested in. Then he said that there will be a new "droid eris" coming out during the first quarter of this year. I asked him what they will be calling this new phone, and he said he didn't know.
Could "new Droid Eris coming out First Quarter of this year" really mean "Incredible coming out at some point in March"?

The more I think about this, I am starting to believe that the Incredible with have 256mb ram and an underclocked processor. If that is the case it will replace the Eris nicely and the N1 will be their flagship Android phone.

But couldn't it be that the N1 was announced for Spring on Verizon as soon as it launched and thats why the techs have heard of it and not the Incredible?

10:50AM We stand corrected. "The Nexus One" is coming to the Verizon this Spring!
10:49AM Storefront tour, which we've just so happened to have seen before in earlier leaks. $530 unlocked, $180 with T-Mobile plan.
10:49AM ...Note that doesn't mean Nexus One is heading to Verizon, just that the carrier will one day be a bullet point selection somewhere on the site for some phone. Enjoy your Droid for now.
10:48AM Before I go, another fun little surprise. "I mention we're going to be adding more providers." Verizon in the US and Vodafone in Europe have agreed to join the program.
10:47AM Expected to add more carriers, more devices (including Motorola) and more countries in the near future. The store will be opening up... any minute!
10:46AM Can buy from Google or from carrier, the latter of which of course gets you a discount. "Today, at launch, from Nexus One Phone - Web meets phone., you can purchase a Nexus One with service from T-Mobile USA."
10:46AM "Our design objective is simplicity." Simple purchasing process, simple carrier selections.
10:45AM "You might be asking how we're going to bring this to the market." Google-hosted web store.

Rather than meaning a new Eris, he could have just meant a new HTC phone, just like when he mentioned the Devour to me, he said it was the new Droid. He probably didn't know anything about these phones, other than what he's been told to refer to them as if asked about them.
From Google's Website: The Nexus One Phone with Verizon Wireless service.

You know, this is interesting. A few weeks ago I was on the phone with VZW tech support (for my worthless Storm 1), and asked about HTC Incredible. The tech support rep told me that there was a recent internal email about a new "HTC Droid, but it's not going to be called that" which was going to be out in the second part of the first quarter, or beginning of the second quarter. He had no other information (at least that he could tell me) at that time. I know that these reps are typically uninformed, but this sounds a bit like what you were told. Hmm...
All the signs are pointing to this..i understand people who have dedicated so much time waiting for this phone not wanting to think this..but ever leaked specs says 256 yet there are many people who think you'll see 512 based on nothing...its dissapointing but par for the course for big red.

Someone may remember better than me, but wasn't the N1 originally rumored to have only 256MB RAM? I found this link -
Google Nexus One mobile phone photo, specifications and expected price
It says "Unconfirmed reports say that the Nexus One will have a 1-GHz snapdragon processor with 256 MB RAM and 512 MB ROM."
I couldn't find anything on leaked test units or anything like that, but it seems like 512MB RAM on the N1 wasn't the consensus until official specs were released. So I think it's possible that the Incredible will have at least 512MB. I know it's Verizon we're talking about, but still, it makes too much sense for them not to put at least that much in it.
Exactly what I said yestrday, to some extent. The Incredible could be an Eris replacement in the mid tier phones. Mid tier pricing too if thats the case.
That's totally a possibility but wouldn't that make the name "Incredible" be a serious misnomer? I think it's still possible that referencing it to the Eris could just mean an HTC android phone.
But maybe not. I am going to run with a new theory. That maybe rumors about the Bravo, Desire, Passion coming to Verizon aren't so far fetched to me now. Maybe I am slowly being driven insane by the waiting, but does anyone really think the Incredible looks like a flagship phone?

very true. My explanation was it would be "incredible" for the pricing ($150 or possibly $99) and what you get for a mid tier phone.. I know it's weak, but it's all I got lol
I think we should seriously watch the FCC approvals again! Would it not be awesome to get a CDMA Desire???? Now that would be a proper flagship phone!
