ZTE gets hot when im not using it and wont hold a charge

i got my ZTE Warp(boost) almost 2 months ago the last couple of days it has been getting hot mostly the top of the phone obove the battery in the back and today ive been trying to charge it but it wont hold a charge ive tunred off all wi fi background data turned down the screen birghtness i cant figure out what it could be should i prepare myself to get a new phone iv only had it for 2 months

That sucks...I've notice that my phone gets hot when I charge it in the case/skin that I have for it or even when I am doing a lot on it and its in the skin so for the last couple of days I have been using and charging it without the case, has not got as hot at all and I've had mine since December...if you have it in a case try charging and using without it

I have also noticed my phone gets hot when I keep it in a pocket. That would seem to indicate it needs a great deal of air cooling which could be made worse if you have a case around it. If it does continue over heating though that might indicate a more serious issue as that sound like a problem some people had that had faulty Warp phones.

The phone shouldn't heat up when it's not in use, unless something is running that is consuming a lot of CPU. I would suggest taking it back for a warranty replacement, especially since it won't charge.

first try putting it in airplane mode, that should turn off all data/cell etc. turn off gps.

if that doesn't solve it, then I would try a factory data reset, which would point to an app as the issue, you didn't say if you had done anything like root/cwm/etc, but I am assuming you have only installed apps and are still using a stock phone since this isn't in the root section.

lastly if the above two don't fix it, you probably have a hardware issue and should send your phone back in for a warranty replacement.

Mine has been running way hot ever since the recent update. A friend of mine now having the same issue post update. Phone now reboots alot where before it did not.
