I hate to be the n00b of the thread (and Android as a whole), but can I flash the kernel and recovery and maintain/reflash Admiral Beast? I'm waiting on CM7 to be a little cleaner, but if I can't do the above I'll wait.

If so, what bugs may I encounter?

No data/service battery thing

Yeah, first boot takes awhile (rebuilding the dalvik cache), but after that, it flies.

i had a hard time restoring my backup and some how cuoldnt use odin on my pc but if some one need it i will upload a zip with the old cwm that was the only way for me to install it

requisite0, sounds like it is an awesome build...

Battery monitor I think I can live without, but as far as data goes, is that just 3g and 1x, or is that going to affect calls and sms/mms as well?

I don't have service on my test phone, but I don't think Grandfinalex was able to get on the network at all when I had him test earlier.

Alright. I thought data, service and the battery indicator were ROM-dependent, not kernel and recovery-based; at the very least not recovery. I shall happily wait then. Great work, OP. I've been building some themes and I look forward to making them Admire-CM7 compatible.

No he wasn't. No service access at all. I would love to help you test and take it for a spin, but unfortunately need data access. My Admire is my only phone.

I feel like no one is listening to me -___- Alright, I was talking with a friend that had an Alpha build much like ours. He had restored his APN settings (seeing as this is built from source, APN settings for our phones aren't built in), and his data had started working, I don't have the time to test tonight, as I have school tomorrow, but.... I will as soon as I get back.

Heres the APN restore/backup:
APN Backup & Restore - Android Apps on Google Play

Can someone PLEASE test it? Backup your APN before flashing either thing, then restore once inside the new ROM.

testing now, just got off phone with gf, and did a quick prl update so at least i can make calls and go on wifi. the sms i sent, says it sent so we'll see. not seeing charging icons or 3g, 1x icons tho.

Hmm, do you have any bars next to the battery? Are they lit up?

Hmm, strange. We'll keep working with it tomorrow. We've *almost* got this

Im liking this so far. It feels way smooth. Cant wait for a full release. Ill leave this installed for testing and let you know if anything strange happens :)

Progress is looking great. Think from an observer standpoint, it is safe to say we will have a beta or full release in the next 72 hours. Keeping my fingers crossed for everone who can contribute time here.

Wish there was more I could do, but dont have an environment for coding or troubleshooting.

I cant imagine the pages of printed text this would be, but that would be how I read it over... There has to be some missing call code that is just getting overlooked to get battery and data displays
