***Official HTC Incredible Thread***

I have reduced myself to searching for non-published directories on Verizon/Best Buy/HTC's websites in relation to the Incredible. All I've found are some photos of the Nexus One and Motorola Backflip on Best Buys website. interestingly, Best Buy doesn't sell the Nexus One and the Backflip isn't out yet. I need help.

Just curious, since Montana's friend said "Upper end devices".. what exactly does that cover? Would it top-tier or does something in the middle also get grouped into this? Because if it is indeed top-tier, and I'm pretty sure one of those devices is the Incredible, then we can put to rest the mediocre specs right? Any thoughts on this?

Absolutely agree with you. IMHO, Incredible will be a high-end phone. As several posters have pointed out, for a number of reasons, this phone will probably come with 512MB of ram, if not more.

Also, the under clocked processor rumors all started because of Aaron's original blog. The other day, he suggested that he may not have been given the correct info, or that it was under clocked on that particular dev phone for some reason, but would not be in the production model.

With a 3.7 in AMOLED screen, optical mouse, and snapdragon processor, I just don't see the Incredible being a mid-range device.

Verizon website is down. They must be adding the N1 and the Incredible to their online inventory!!

BTW....maybe the back of the IncrEDIBLE is made of strawberries hence it being red.

Granted I wasn't there for the conversation, so I don't know if they exclusively talked Android devices, but top tier devices doesn't necessarily mean only Android devices. I fully expect a new palm device to be announced at CTIA and WinMo will undoubtedly produce another device. So it's very possible that two top-tier devices would include something other than just Android handsets. But Montana Man might be able to clear this up.
Although I don't often follow upcoming phone rumors, don't typical "high end" phones get rumored quite early? And if it indeed had a release date at the end of the month, you would think there'd be SOME word on it right? I guess theres always room for speculation though since I donn't know how Palm/WinMo devices handle that.. and VZW defintely likes to keep things on the downlow

Well, it kind of matters what VZW considers the project pink phones, cause these are schedule to be upcoming to VZW but i'm not sure exactly what they would be considered.

Also as far as WebOS devices, I guess I don't have anything besides just thinking that they are definitely due for a hardware upgrade, and this would be the time to announce it. If they go any longer without revving their HW, they're gonna be out of business begore we get to 2011.

When he was pressed, I will note that he had made it a point to use the words "upper end" and NOT "high end," for whatever that's worth.

The VZW is indeed down. Do they really need to shut it down to add products? Don't make me stay up the whole night. ;)

Aren't the project pinks coming out in the summer though? Unless VZW considers that as "soon"

I don't think Palm is going to come out with anything for VZW considering the Pre Plus and Pixi just recently were picked up by Big Red. Also, considering the lower than expected adoption rates of either phone, I wouldn't be surprised if they were out of the running of smartphones very soon

For the Omnia II they said soon in July 2009, and the phone didn't come till Jan. 2010.

N1 Coming soon Jan. 5th.....not out till at the soonest March 23rd, so soon has a very subjective definition.

Maybe not. The real question is, do they really need to shut it down to have a giant banner on the home page announcing the Nexus One / Incredible dual launch event?!?!:D

I know it's wishful thinking, but that's about all I have to go on at this point.

on the site being down, i am going to guess wildly, based on absolutely no facts, that they are going to put up a comic book themed teaser page for the incredible like the robot page for the droid.

Which is why I was just speculating a possible Incredible release.. I'm almost SURE Palm will not be coming out with anything.

As for the N1, it was "Spring 2010", not "soon" ;)

Haha, i think you guys are looking too much into this site-being-down ordeal. Probably just maintenance.

I'll be eating my words if they really do put something up that's N1/Incredible related though.

I think at this point we're all just hoping that something happens soon. No new info for this long is making me lose my mind!

For the watermark, I could make out:
HTC Confidential
12465
HT9APHIO0022

Not for sure, but that is pretty close.

For tracking/identification purposes.. I doubt you'll be able to extract any information with that.

From a technology standpoint it has been way too long for Verizon to not release something new. So we get the N1 on March 23rd and hopefully a dual release with the Incredible? At least those of us that are really hardcore and willing to hold out for the Incredible will see the N1 release as a good omen.

For those of you with the XV6900 and Android roms on it, why does the 2.0/2.1 software run faster than the 1.5/1.6 software if each iteration seemingly adds more features that would theoretically bog the system down more? Is the 1.5 version not stripped just less efficient?

I guess what i'm getting at is if they add more features to the higher versions and increase efficiency then aren't they technically in the same place as before? I.E. can the hardware of the Eris support the 2.1 upgrade and run the same as it does with 1.5(which isn't too bad as long as you have ATK and Spare Parts)?

Would be nice to extrapolate some info from that but with no database to refer to the little bit of information that the pics provide as far as serial numbers and such is more dangerous than none at all.

Out of curiosity I called up Besy Buy Mobile and told them I was interested in upgrading to the Droid Incredible by HTC.

After putting me on hold he came back and said. That phone is going to be launched by Verizon on March 7 so you can't upgrade to that phone until then.

That date is interesting because I remember reading a post on here where someone knew a laid off Verizon employee that mentioned the same date.

Interesting indeed.

It is March 7th ya know, just sayin'... interesting indeed....... ;)
