Help I need a better tethering app

For a long time I used Barnacle and have been more than happy with it, however, since I got the GNEX, it doesn't work. So, I have been using Wifi Tether with some success. The problem that I have is that it seems to drop my connection every so often. When this happens, I have to stop tethering and restart it. This is very annoying.

So, is there something else out there? Please let me know.

Thanks!

If you are stock, I have heard others with the same complaint and will be improved with the 4.0.4/4.0.5 radios. Have you tried the stock tethering feature?

I am rooted. Barnacle just doesn't work and wifi tether always seems to randomly drop my connection.

Any other options or ideas why wifi tether won't stay connected?

Just to clarify, I suggested "wireless tether" which works well, not "wifi tether" which does not. Two different apps. I'll look at fox fi as well but so far wireless tether has been great.

I am at a total loss here - what is everyone talking about? I presume you want to use your GNex as an internet access point / WiFi hotspot, yes? Well, ever since Froyo you can do this without any difficulty; it's childsplay. I have this working on all my devices (HTC Desire, Nexus S and Galaxy Nexus) and my WiFi tablets (iPad 2 and Moto Xoom) work without flaw through this setup. Am I missing something here?

It could be verizon has something to do with it.

The built in toggle with some ROMs works perfectly for me. Specifically, I'm using a derivation of AOKP. Toggle, wifi to my Prime, profit!

I am using the built in tether on Peter Alfonso's Bugless Beast ROM. The ROM is awesome and the tethering is seamless. It can be over wifi or through USB. It is built in so you don't have to open an app or have a program installed on your desktop.
