Root [ROM][MIUI] Official MIUI [PORT]

If it doesn't do anything withing the first 5 mins, pull the battery and try again, if it still doesn't work it probably messed up on flashing or your downloaded zip file is corrupt and you should redownload

My wifi connection is bad, and bad downloads are pretty common. Just in case, do you have the checksum? Anyways, yeah, it was I downloaded it again and it loaded, but its still a little choppy. Got data sorta working. Also, my phone was one of the batch that were plagued with the reboot issue, so I'll be watching out for that. If this doesn't go too well I'll try your ICS CM7 port. ...Nice job, btw.

I've never did checksums for any downloads/files, I should look into it I guess, I'll google how to do it once I'm done with some homework...

My ICS CM7 has no problems as far as I know and what other people have been posting :cool:

Lol. I know its bad. Anyways, I did switch to the ICS rom...which I do like more. haha. Just got a reboot though, so I'll try flashing the 2.2.2 kernel back to make it more stable. Oh well...no OC.

I'll get the checksum sometime in the next day or two. It's a little hard to work on this phone, because I don't have it with me right now, and I probably won't get it soon, and I have mid-terms this week, so I'm getting a lot of studying now. xD
 
Alright everyone, we are going to dump this LeWa port because............................................................ a new MIUI build for the Optimus V was released on March 23rd, it's not LeWa MIUI, it's MIUI!!! Test1 was released and sometime tonight they are releasing a new build! MIUI everything works on the Optimus M except some lockscreens are too big and then you can't unlock, the bootscreen cannot be changed either (at least not with the MIUI method that's built in).

Ported MIUI ROM will not be released today, sorry, I don't have time today.
 
It has something to do with the kernal used..I flashed the anyrom by reppard and it fixed everything on both roms..:)
 
the MIUI, BobZhome 2-2-12 version, and ICSthemed are all the same kernel, both ports use the kernel from BobZhome's 2-2-12 version and I will continue using that version because the new version will have that Metro boot screen....
 
Update:
The new version of the ROM has more problems than the initial release, I will not release that one...I may release the original since I still have that file, I will add browser and do the Theme fix myself unless the guy plans on releasing a new update soon...

The initial release is in the OP. And Would you mind putting the MIUI ROM in the comments. I have everything on my desktop, I just don't have time to upload it.. I have three projects due tomorrow, so I'll probably be up until like five. Friday is spring break though, so I'll work on it more then. xD After you post it, I'll update it in the OP.

The initial release I am talking about is the one for MIUI (it was released not long ago), I am not talking about LeWa...
and I can't right now, I'm busy typing up my little bro's science fair project....
tomorrow I definitely will.

Alright, they finally figured out how to fix settings and I made sure it works.

Ported from the Optimus V here

Intructions:
1) Wipe /data /system /boot /cache /dalvik-cache
2) Flash the 3/23/12 version
3) Reboot into phone
4) Reboot back into recovery (to open the pop-up menu you must be on lockscreen)
5) Flash the 3/28/12 version*
6) Reboot into phone
7) Reboot into recovery
8) Flash gapps*
9) Reboot and enjoy!
*Note: Do NOT wipe anything, just flash it.

Features:
  • Full MIUI (notice some lockscreens that are not the right size will not let you unlock and you will have to wipe all over again)
  • Deodexed
  • Stable
  • Smooth
  • Apps are added to the main drawer (no app drawer)-kinda like iPhone

What works:
  • Music app works (there are issues in the app itself though that aren't important, but it will play your music just fine)-downloading music with it doesn't work, lyrics don't work
  • Everything else important

What doesn't work:
  • A few settings in the settings menu
  • Help me find more xD

Pros: Data works (both 1x, and 3G). All the apps actually work, I love the MIUI Gallery, and the MIUIFileManager. Calling works & SMS works great, I love the UI. Everything else mostly works. The lockscreen works perfectly.
Cons: Data works but I can't go on the Market, or the Internet, but I was able to sign into my Gmail account on the setup. I can't go into settings, so that means no wifi, or any other testing in there. It's a bit laggy but it's better than I expected.
THIS IS AWESOME. If you guys can fix the bugs in this to make it a everyday ROM, I would be one happy camper :3
