Can I get back to stock????

Nezza42

Lurker
I've got a rooted S2 running a custom ROM.

Is there anyway to get it back to stock (& be recognised by Kies) & re-enable the warranty?

The info on the phone is as follows:

Model: GT-I9100
Android Version: 4.0.3
Baseband Version: I9100XXLPQ
Kernel Version: 3.0.15-I9100XXLPQ-CL22305 se.infra@SEP-94 #3
Build Number: IML74K.XXLPQ

Thanks for any help

Nez

Thanks for the reply, but it doesn't really answer my question.

"Just re install stock" is what I want to do, but don't know how!

Download checkfus located here

The webversion of Check Fus 2.0

Choose on the right hand side

Android
GT-I9100
(select your country and carrier)

Click on check firmware and then download, this should download your current carriers most recent firmware which can be flashed with Odin

Thanks for the replies, but wont I need the original kernel too?

If so, how/where do I get that?

Cheers, Nez

The way I've said puts your phone back to how your provider would supply it to you, kernel/firmware/modem/bundles apps/TEH WHOLE SHEBANG.

Does this mean it has the official ROM too? because I flashed my rom to OMEGA rom, then when I tried to restore my backup, it says CHECKSUM error or something

Checksum means your backup is corrupt more than likely. The .tar file flashes your phone to the latest ROM provided by your provider.

I've updated using the .tar file obtained using CheckFus, whilst the phone now looks like stock (all "Three" branding & apps are back, albeit on ICS & not the original Gingerbread) the phone still doesn't support updating via Kies.

The Kies software reports current firmware as:

I9100XXLPQ/I9100H3GLP2/I9100NELP2/I9100XXLPQ (KOR)

From the "About phone" option from settings sceen on phone I now get:

Model: GT-I9100
Android Version: 4.0.3
Baseband Version: I9100NELP2
Kernel Version: 3.0.15-I9100XXLPQ-CL22305 se.infra@SEP-94 #3
Build Number: IML74K.XXLPQ

I notice that the Baseband version has changed, but the Kernel is still the same as the one I previously installed (& presumably not the same as the original) :(

Is there no way to get my phone back to stock (preferably Gingerbread) &/or being recognised by Kies for updates?

Thanks for any further help.

tbh i'm at a bit of a loss now, you have the same kernel as me and I've rooted. Did you root the phone after flashing the ROM?
