Told you not trust last years release dates :P

Edit: oh damn, May 7th is pre-order day!

So June release still lines up with last year's EVO release. The dates are only a few days off from the original EVO's release and pre-order dates (as well as price).

Yeah, looked up pre-order dates for the original too. They are going to confuse people with this though...

Why wouldn't it make sense? I don't get it?
But this what it says,"Display: 4.7-inch HD 720p super LCD (1280 x 720), 16.7 million colors".

at the top is says, "4.7-inch HD super LCD display"
Because adding a "2" to the end doesn't look or read right like SLCD and SLCD2 reads.

Guys I really can't believe they are really going to release that phone. Props to mak16 for getting those pictures right. To me Its important how.then phone looks. I really cant buy a phone that is that ugly. Say what you will but I'm buying a samsung this year instead of a HTC like I always do..... Gosh I wish they kept the same design as the HTC one x

ok, This phone actually looks good. The only thing I don't like is the glossy and matte. I wish it was all matte. I guess I will be buying a matte top for this baby once I order it. Too bad it isn't available now. I can upgrade now!

...Yes...how is it not??

Argument can be made the Galaxy name separates it from the other Nexus models, so they could have the Galaxy Nexus and then the Nexus 3 later on in the year.

After all, from rumors I've read, Google plans on offering different Nexus tablet lines from multiple manufacturers, so why not the phones too?

Having "Nexus" in the name, doesn't necessarily translate to it being the successor. After all, look at EVO for Sprint, Droid for Verizon...I'm sure you understand the logic.

I just knew because the EVO was my first venture into the Android world (and my demise because of it getting me addicted to Android!...LOL).

There wasn't another EVO 4G on Sprint till today. There was the EVO Shift 4G, EVO 3D, and EVO Design 4G. The "Droid" brand is huge cluster **** so it's not even worth mentioning lol. I understand what you are saying, but at the same time it doesn't make sense because that's never been the case with the Nexus line.

According to the SPrint Spec sheet the phone is almost indentical in size to the European version.

Only thing i can make out is it's 3grams heavier and not curved like the European one.

As I see it...
- Thumbs UP for the kickstand placement
- Thumbs DOWN for the half-polished/half-matte case on the back (Though maybe that's just a plastic film that hasn't been removed?)
- Thumbs UP for not putting buttons on the side of the phone that touches the surface when using the kickstand (E3D had this problem if you used a kickstand case).
- HUGE Thumbs DOWN for not making the GD camera lens flush!
- Thumbs UP for the Dedicated Camera Button!
- Thumbs DOWN for not utilizing duel LEDs
- Thumbs up for the Oreo look! I actually like the black on black with the white stripe running the edge :)
- Thumbs DOWN for no apparent external Micro SD expansion slot?
- Thumbs DOWN for the micro speakerphone slot and placement at the bottom of the phone, where it would be muffled by my palm if I were holding it.

Verdict
- I think I can get over the Downs given the specs and the weight of the Ups. :)

Can anyone make out a micro HDMI or Micro USB slot from the photos of this thing?

It does in fact have a micro SD slot...it just won't come with a card in it.

Wow, HTC really stepped up and so did Sprint! Last year wasn't really that tough of a decision for me, with regards to the EVO 3D. By seeing this phone, I know that worst case scenario, it'll be the device that I upgrade to. I'm just hoping Motorola does have something big in mind for their Sprint phone this year also.

Nontheless, looks like I might end up having to buy new accessories again...hahahaha.

I think it will look good with the gloss part, which is removable, replaced. I'm sure someone will make it. HTC might even and take more of our money.

I won't see it with the case I'm going to put on it anyway...although it's going to be interesting how cases handle that kickstand.

Relax there buddy. I'm just bring up points that can't necessarily be ignored. I'm not saying that I believe it...just theories.

Just because something has never been done, doesn't mean it's not gonna eventually happen. Did you read the info about the Nexus line tablets? If they're going to have Nexus line tablets from Motorola, Samsung, Asus, etc...no reason they can't do that for the phones.

...I am relaxed lol. Where did I say I wasn't? haha

Its a 2000 mah battery. I still say it needs to be larger. I guess I will have to keep some type of charger with me if I get this phone. Which most likely I will.

I would like to see.......

1) If this phone will come in white

2) What the GSIII will bring. There have been rumors that the Exynos Quad core chip has been modded to work with LTE.

But i dont think Sprint will see the GSIII until August or September.

Going to be interesting HTC and Samsung battling it out.
