Root Will We Receive Updates?

I have LG Marquee for boost rooted, and android version 2.3.4. Since we rooted you think we might get lucky and get ice cream 4? theres talks this phone might get it. But i heard rooting can prevent you from getting updates. Also how do i remove that damn boost start up logo?

As far as I heard, no official ICS will be coming our way. I believe because Sprint is considering it to be EOL'd (End of life) at the end of this month (http://androidforums.com/lg-marquee/520952-sprint-e-o-l-s-marquee-april.html#post4122082). Though with a Custom ROM I am sure we will be close to it.. As for the Boot Animation.. I recommend installing Marky Beats v1.2 (Beta for now, but will soon be official release.) [http://androidforums.com/marquee-al...rint-marky-beats-v1-2-beta-updated-4-4-a.html] Has an awesome Boot.ani And is less bloated than the stock ROM. Plus it has Beats by DRE Audio Drivers included for better sound quality. And that is just the tip of the ice burg if you ask me, this ROM offers a lot of neat things that is worth a look into! Hope this was somewhat helpful.
