Nexus One Case Recommendation?

Just installed my Invisible Shield. While I maintain that this is the best way to protect your gadget from scratches and maintain the look of the device, I'm disappointed with the Invisible Shield for the N1 compared to other devices I've fitted:

It seems to not cover the corners as well as normal. The bottom corners are left very much uncovered.

There are a lot of parts, meaning a lot of joins. Why is the piece which covers the strip where the track ball is placed in 2 rather than 1 piece across the body? The same with the piece which covers the engraving strip again 2 parts which meet in the middle where one would be easy to install.

I understand that joins are necessary where battery covers need to be removed etc but I feel that this product could have had 2 or 3 less.

That said, I don't see anything better at the moment if you want this type of protection.

By the way, easier to install than I remembered. Just make sure you apply plenty of the included solution to the sticky side of the pieces and keep your fingers wet as well.

100% agree here; I still have mine on my Iphone 3g and that only had like 2 parts! I had literally 6 parts to fiddle with and align; IMO they rushed this one out.

Everythings on now but the back "Flaps" that meet on the rear look hideous! Only other notes is I think it "sticks" a lot stronger than it went on the Iphone whereas my corners feel really solid and firm which was a pain on my iphone.

I recently purchased and am very happy with the case-mate "tough".

I run with a case similar to the case-mate "tough".

.
(In my case an AMZER) but noticed yesterday that when it's charging through the mains charger (rather than a USB link from a laptop which has lower current) the battery and real, inside case get really really hot... Hmmmnn expect that'll shorten life of some component, starting with battery.

I can of course take the case off but expect after doing that 20 times it'll start falling apart..

Cheers!

If you're gonna run it in protection, I'd just use the sock. It's packaged with it for a reason. its free and offers ideal protection.

The sock that it came with it is good and all, but the trouble of having to take it out before I can use the phone is not what I'm looking for.

Thanks
:p

I use the Flexi-skin from Boxwave and have been very happy with it. The only complaint I have is that it is necessary to remove it before you can use the desktop dock. You can get it on Amazon for $12.95.

I just bought one from this website Ultra-case.com they have Nexus One cases here: Ultra Case - Be Different Your iPhone 3G / 3GS Case I got the Black for Nexus One it's the first one that I have seen that is the same size as most snap-on iPhone cases. They make some really good looking iPhone cases and I hope they port them over to this phone. Also any iPhone pouch (Leather or Fabric) will work for this phone I bought two and since this phone is slimmer than an iPhone they slide right in. When I get a chance I will post pictures of all these on the phone.

Hi everyone,

I have just bought the Google Desktop docking station. Does anyone know which case will be most appropriate -ie, doesn't require removal before placing the phone on the dock.

Thanks in advance!:)

Interesting replies.

So far most of you recommended the flexible rubber/plastic cases. I was hoping that someone could give me a review of the aluminum ones.

Thanks for all the info.
:)

DO NOT use the aluminum or hard plastic cases.....they never and i meeeeeaaaaannnn never fit completely correctly because they cant properly mold around the phone, thus caussing damage from rubbage.... soft rubber like cases are the best and actually you can get the best and cheapest ones on ebay. DONT get the ones like in the pictures above. I believe its the black one above that coverd the front of the phone around the trackball. They are toooooo bulky and completely take away from the sleek look of the phone. Trust me ebay is the way to go....I think i also saw a fairly large add for the same ones on theunlockr.com here is an image of one of the models....there are numerous other very thin ones that provide great protection....and as for screen protectors you must nut up and spend the $20 for the Invisible Sheild Brand. They last for 6 to 8 months atleast and have very minimal streecking.....but dont pay the $8 for the geeks at Best Buy to put it on....its easy to do yourself. You have to use a ton of the liquid crap that it comes with...kinda scary but in reality its not gonna hurt anything even if you get a little in te speaker which would be hard to do unless you were a 2 year old. Hope that helps.....sorry about all the miss spelled words.....i failed 5th grade

Has anyone used / seen a case that either comes with or has a loop for a lanyard? I'm off to mexico at the end of the month and I'm going micro-lighting :D I don't want to clumsily drop my N1 into the jungle!

I'm guessing OP is in the US?
I have an alu-case on order from Proporta - top notch reputable UK company, the case is custom made (i.e. not a generic one size kind of fits) and they take 6-8 weeks to bring it to market..
Oh and there's a lifetime warranty on all of their products..

Hopefully end of the month arrival...

That is very interesting that you brought it up.
I'll look for some good rubber ones then. Btw, do you know if I can find ones with designs on it? Instead of just plain.

P.S. customizable design, like if I were to upload a picture...you know. Haha

Thanks
:)
