man, that's way easier than the way i had to do it back in the fall. will this work on the verizon version as well. i'm getting a new one since mine met the underside of a tire on a SUV going 50 mph. don't ask.

Yes, as long as there is not a newer firmware than .88 (2.3.3) on the Verizon version.

Oh, and just so you know, cm9 (ics) is out-flippin-standing on the Verizon version

i doubt that it would be past 2.3.3 so i should be good. i spent like three hours trying to get it rooted the other way. ha! ive been slowly rethinking getting the bootloader unlocked. paying someone to do it still irks me. why can't it be free!!!
maybe i'll do it after i move in a few weeks.

I used unlockroot 2.5 you can get it at unlockroot.com worked perfect for my play running 2.3.4 simple one click interface. took about 5min for it to do it. and thats running build number 4.0.2.A.0.42

unlockroot uses a (very) (slightly) modified zergRush binary... it's really no different than superoneclick or the link in my sig for zergRush.
