Nexus Refurbs??

Well it looks like I have to get a refurb phone from Verizon because mine keeps crapping out on me. I came from a Thunderbolt, and those refurbs sucked to be nice, so who has gotten a refurb Nexus? How's the quality? any issues? crappy like the T-Bolt ones? Any insight will be appreciated.

I've had to replace mine three times. The first replacement they give you a brand new one. After that you get a certified "like new" device. Both the "like new" ones I've gotten, I could tell what they were returned for in the first place. With a phone like the Nexus, if someone returns it, it's not going to be because they don't like it. Returned Nexi have something wrong with them that VZW wants to still try to make cash off of. That said, the "like new" phone I'm on now works perfectly. The only flaw is a slight chip in the plastic bezel on the side that you can't even see, but you can feel it easily.

They might send a new instead of a refurb since its a new phone. I've gotten mine replaced 3 times and they sent a new one every time. You can dial *#*#786#*#* to check your recondition status when you get it

on the check satus thing does that work after i activate it? cause i checked mine and under recondition status it says NO. however this was sent to me as a recondition phone? (turns out to have worse issues than the new one i had since jan)

i got a refurbed one, and its no better than the first, but i cant call it in, until the recent one is back in there facility :( so verizon will be hearing from me again about this.

I just got my replacement in the mail today, and it said on the packaging certified like-new replacement yet I dialed that number and under reconditioned it says NO also. what does that mean?

anyone know if the *#*#786#*#* is accurate if it says no under reconditioned status, but was sent as a refurb replacement with "like-new" on the packaging of the phone?

Has anyone had an Asurion replacement phone? Is that a refurbed phone? I'm going to file a claim soon for a cracked screen and was wondering.

I just received a "certified like-new" replacement. This could be wrong, but... The tech I spoke to on the phone told me that a "like-new" phone is not one that had problems and was refurbished. She said it was a phone someone purchased, decided not to keep, and returned.

According to Verizon's website, those phones are still "inspected and reconditioned to like-new condition."

huh interesting this would make sense...I guess that's better than an actual refurb, mine is working great currently...

I got a like-new certified replacement on Friday after my original phone from last December was giving me fits for the last time. I must say as a whole this replacement device is working A LOT better. (Was having radio/signal issues and the one-way mute issue). Anyway, the replacement phone itself looks in pristine condition. No complaints here.

Same issue with a 2nd refurb phone but have yet to have an answer for it but debating and calling verizon about it.

Yeah I'm not sure this works. I just received a refurbished phone. I know its refurbished because of the packaging it was sent in and on the back where the "made in" sticker is, it says made in Korea refurbished in the USA. When I enter in the code listed above it also says no under reconditioned status.
