Root [Root] One Click Root for Samsung Admire (SCH-R720) :: Windows/Mac/Linux :: 9/12/2011

Thank you so much! I tried all these other "promising" methods and THIS WAS THE ONLY REALISTIC ONE WITH RESULTS! http://www.androidforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif

I did, however have to give it a whirl 3 times... MOST LIKELY it was my damn cheap USB (Micro-Mini) Cable tho... :-/

In any event PATIENCE is well rewarding, I dare say! Just follow the prompts and it should work well! I did this on an Win-XP Pro32-bit PC, 3GB Ram 3Ghz HT Intel... (xpsp_3)

The Developer of this Utility made this so well, it's basically GOOF-PROOF! IF it doesn'tt work on your Samsung

Edit the run.bat and change
Code:
wait-for-defice
to
Code:
wait-for-device

It's the only issue I'm aware of in the root script. Still don't think it should give you problems though.

still the same message as yesterday the run.bat. file is in the root folder right and not in the driver

Correct...you wouldn't happen to have different CPU to use would you:confused:
Reason I ask is that some machines just don't want to cooperate. If not we'll go from there.

Hi

I rooted my phone a month ago but have since nototiced two problems with my phones sensors/ chips. I am not sure if its related to the root or not as I didn't test these before. I have a vitality r720 from cricket and would like a couple of users of this forum to test the functionality of both. 3 people with an unrooted vitality and 3 with a rooted one.
For gps download gps test, go outside and run program it will get a fix eventuall, let it run for 2 mins then close the program for 2 mins.repeat this again two times and see if you get the same results. It may continually search for sats for 30 mins before reconnecting or rebooting is the only other way.

The other test is with google sky you can calab by doing figure of 8 but settings are lost later or the offset. Is lost. If you use sky moving phone verticaly is fine but horizontaly is unpredictable and wild. If you do this test, test it, calab it and then retest several hours later.

These two problems maybe firmware/ hardware related this test illiminates the root as the cause of the problem.

Use the quote button to post your results.

Regards

Pedro

Maybe I should try rooting my phone with these instructions at my mom's house with her old pc running WinXP, instead of trying to do it with my new Win7 laptop? Maybe my problem has been my Windows7?

Could very well be the issue..christadmire was able to get it done using a different CPU ..worth a shot:)

Am I screwed?

I unzipped the one-click pack, enabled USB debugging, corrected the run.bat file to read "wait for device" rather than "wait for defice", plugged in the phone, and excuted the run.bat file.

The cmd window displayed:

"[*] Triggering core dump..."
error: device not found
error: device not found
"[*] Rebooting phone. It may buzz a lot and loop on boot. Don't panic."

I then noticed the USB port was going on and off, and I looked in device manager, and it showed the removable drive was appearing and disappearing. The phone display was normal, at the main screen. I changed USB ports, but the connection was still showing as intermittently appearing and disappearing. I then re-booted the phone, and now it will not start. It does the hello-hello-hello thing and brings up the SAMSUNG splash screen. It has been simply just cycling with the logo up and the phone won't boot up.

Help!

Make sure you have a good USB cord(sounds like that is part of your problem) or your charger connection at the phone is faulty.
