okay back at it im gunna give this another try im gunna start all over including downloading the drivers agian
yeah delete everything related to the root. You on win xp-7
wait-for-defice
wait-for-device
still the same message as yesterday the run.bat. file is in the root folder right and not in the driver

root sucessful no more bs metro crap now to download adobe flash player and check out what other benifits there are to the new rooted phone...omg i am so grateful to the makers of the root and everyone who help me get it. from me to you thanks

lol yea his comp is kinda slower although it worked like a charm on his...okay one more question its telling me to update us binary then says manifest faild what is that and if its necasary how do I do it? this is on super user
Edit the run.bat and change
toCode:wait-for-defice
It's the only issue I'm aware of in the root script. Still don't think it should give you problems though.Code:wait-for-device

Thank you so much! I tried all these other "promising" methods and THIS WAS THE ONLY REALISTIC ONE WITH RESULTS! http://www.androidforums.com/images/smilies/smile.gif
I did, however have to give it a whirl 3 times... MOST LIKELY it was my damn cheap USB (Micro-Mini) Cable tho... :-/
In any event PATIENCE is well rewarding, I dare say! Just follow the prompts and it should work well! I did this on an Win-XP Pro32-bit PC, 3GB Ram 3Ghz HT Intel... (xpsp_3)
The Developer of this Utility made this so well, it's basically GOOF-PROOF! IF it doesn'tt work on your Samsung
still can't update su binary its sayn downloading manifest......failed check internet connection what to do

Maybe I should try rooting my phone with these instructions at my mom's house with her old pc running WinXP, instead of trying to do it with my new Win7 laptop? Maybe my problem has been my Windows7?

Am I screwed?
I unzipped the one-click pack, enabled USB debugging, corrected the run.bat file to read "wait for device" rather than "wait for defice", plugged in the phone, and excuted the run.bat file.
The cmd window displayed:
"
[*] Triggering core dump..."
error: device not found
error: device not found
"
[*] Rebooting phone. It may buzz a lot and loop on boot. Don't panic."
I then noticed the USB port was going on and off, and I looked in device manager, and it showed the removable drive was appearing and disappearing. The phone display was normal, at the main screen. I changed USB ports, but the connection was still showing as intermittently appearing and disappearing. I then re-booted the phone, and now it will not start. It does the hello-hello-hello thing and brings up the SAMSUNG splash screen. It has been simply just cycling with the logo up and the phone won't boot up.
Help!
