Help Power control widget

I'm sick of searching for this, although I know that this has been answered already. But can someone please define what each of the 5 controls on the power control widget are for? Thanks

Good catch actually. Seems that using this toggle disables the auto brightness. No wonder it got hard to read outside all of a sudden.

What is "sync"?...is that the same as the 3g data option everyone recommends turning off for battery life? Yes, I know what the word "sync" means but I don't get what it does in this context.

I believe so. You are giving the phone the option to sync background data (say, for instance, twitter or facebook), thus using the 3g network to do so. The "sync" word is probably related to your accounts under "Accounts and Sync" (which so happen to include facebook, twitter, gmail, etc.)

"Sync" it the device checking your facebook, email, twitter, etc.

3G Data off/on is the "Mobile Network" button, not on the "power widget" but it has its own widget.

From my experience turning off sync you can still use mobile data (web, facebook, etc) but it won't automatically search for any status updates/ emails. This does conserve the battery as it isn't using battery to search and is only using battery when you physically do something.
