I receive my messages (SMS) in Persian (Farsi) , But the characters are unknown, unreadable and not recognized in G1 , is there any solution to make it right ?
You can check in your phone Settings under "Locale" and see if Farsi is supported there ... it isnt on my phone ...
If your phone does not have that ... then it was not intended for your area ... assuming you bought the phone from a local carrier ..
If Imported then that would be the reason it doesnt exist ....
Mine has Arabie and Hindi .. and such // even on my US phone

I don't have any settings that's called Locale or something like that related to Language or Text![]()
You say you have a G1 ?
Press the MENU key
Press Settings
Scroll down the list of options ... Second from bottom of list
"Locale & text"
Thank You But
Second from bottom of list (In Settings ) Is a option that is "Text"
Including of : Auto-replace , Auto-cap , Auto-punctuate
I don't have the option that you wrote
Model : T-Mobile G1
Firmware Version : 1.0
Kernel Version : 2.6.25-01842-gfea26b0 android-build@apa27#6
Dont understand ... i would think a G1 would be a G1 not sure why you settings menu are different from mine ....
Hope you find them
He may have another version of the software.
I have a similar problem. I view Twitter tweets in Persian that cannot interpret the language and shows a box for each character. Is there a Persian font we can install for Android?
My settings locale only offers English and Spanish. I want English for my locale, but I want to be able to read Persian in the Persian characters a font would display.
Yes Maybe he has a Chinese clone ... not a real G1 ... The only way he could possibly have a different OS is to be rooted ... and even then rooted OS Builds dont destroy the existing OS settings functions ...
So he most likely has the chinese clone or not a G1 ...

Dude I've got the genuine G1
It seems there is a difference between my Android OS and yours , anyway I'm trying to solve it .
Thanks
