Yes you will need WidgetLocker. As for the rest you will need to ask zomx .

new to the whole customization of phones. Is there a way you can set it up so at Midnight it changes to a different custom lock screen? that way you dont have to change it everyday it does it automatically?

You can do that with your home screens using Multi picture Live wallpaper app, but I am not sure it would work with the Lock screen. but it's a free app so you have nothing to lose by trying
