Ok so Ive been running Stock++ for awhile and its great. But I wanted to start from scratch with reinstalling stock++ and my apps, and the tweaks I used. But now whenever I flash the Stock++ ROM, it boots up and everything, but the market wont upgrade to the Play Store, and when I boot into CWM it gives me a
E:Cant open /cache/recovery/log. I dont know what these problems are about. When I restore the backup I made of my old Stock++ it fixes the E:Cant open /cache/recovery/log problem. I have no idea what couldve gone wrong...

Ive been trying to figure it out for awhile now, ive been going through folders and files, I just have no idea whats causing the cant open cache problem in cwm, or why the market isnt upgrading. I already tried to update the market manually, it installs and everything, but then when I try to download something it gives me a 492 error.

Hopefully Req will finally add these instructions to his thread.

* After making a Nandroid backup, make a complete back-up of the SD card to your computer.

After flashing the original CWM to the phone you get can't mount cache errors, follow these steps to be able to restore your Nandroid backup.
1) Remove SD card from phone and insert it in a card reader or another device to attach it to your computer.
2) With the SD card opened on your computer, delete all folders and files from your SD card and then copy the backup you made earlier to it. You can make a copy of the current SD card folders/files in a new folder if you wish.
3) Once everything is done writing to the SD card, unmount it from the computer and insert it back into your phone.
4) Boot into CWM (at this point, can't mount cache errors will still be showing, but just ignore it) and navigate to backup and restore and used advanced restore to restore your Nandroid backup one section at a time. If you get an md5 checksum doesn't match error, start over from step 1 again.
5) Restart phone and your backup should be restored.

HOW TO PROPERLY INSTALL THIS ROM(WITH ROOT ACCESS WORKING CORRECTLY AND MARKET TO DOWNLOAD/INSTALL)

  1. First make sure you do a nandroid backup.
  2. Before Flashing Stock++, Make Sure This and And This are on your SDCard.
  3. Flash Req's CWM Recovery and Kernel package, then go to Advanced->Reboot recovery..
  4. Flash the latest version of Stock++
  5. Mount System, flash the GAPPS Zip.
  6. Reboot
  7. Once booted, go to recovery again.
  8. Mount System, Flash the SuperUser Zip.
  9. Done! Reboot!

And if you want the latest version of Playstore, Click Me

Everything will work fine! I just downloaded terminal emulator off market. No errors!

I did this and now I have no errors and everything works great:)

Hello,

This bug with the CMW has already been reported and is not reason to be alarmed. I'm sure REQ0 will eventually find a solution for this, but for now it's not something to worry about.

I hope this helps apart of your question.

Sincerely,

Jxillex

The cache issue can usually be fixed by just wiping cache in CWM. I'll be releasing a new CWM and kernel soon, which seems to have reduced the frequency of the issue, and every time I've seen the issue (about five times now) a cache wipe has resolved it (and made market work, etc).
