i'm on fido canada network for the past 2 weeks or so i've been getting dropped calls with s2. does anyone else with different network drop calls?

Hows your signal strength during this time? Have you tried calling your carrier and reporting the issue with them to see what they have to suggest?

Is the phone up to date (software)?

Am I correct in thinking the following jaliy?

1. You are on an unlocked GT-i9100 International?

2. You are on the Canadian, "Fido", network, a subsidiary of Rogers'?

3. You are running the European, generic, ICS firmware, "XEU" with the LPS modem?

2 out of 3 ain't bad!

Could you type the following into your dial pad please jaliy and let me know what your PDA and CSC codes are.

The only thing I know about the Fido network is what I have just gleaned from the web.

3 out of 3 now!

Your CSC code is... XEU which means that you have an LPS modem!

It would seem that a few Canadians have been having problems all along with the modems on the European firmware. See here on this thread entitled, "Modem bad reception in Canada Galaxy s2".

Looking through that thread it would seem that the only solution that others, like yourself, have found is to flash a different modem to the handset since there does not appear to be a Fido specific firmware for the GT-i9100. There is a Rogers' firmware for the SGSII on Gingerbread but ICS has not been released yet.

However, this is not something to be taken lightly and would void your warranty.

You tell me jaliy... you're using it in Canada.

The LPS modem is working great for me in the UK.
