HTC EVO 3D heads to Virgin Mobile as the EVO V 4G | Android Community
Ive really really been wanting the EVO 3D, i almost bought it off contract just to have the device itself. i dont really care about quad core processors and all that new jazz, what really matters is how efficiently the software runs. CM7 is stupidly smooth and fast on my triumph and i couldnt ask for more. I used the EVO 3D and i know its a decent solid phone.
just becuase you CAN buy a 4 core super phone, doesnt suddenly make these phones "bad"
if it comes to virgin im totally jumping ship

Why?
Because VM may be getting WiMAX, but the fact of the matter is, the coverage for WiMAX sucks. There is only WiMAX coverage in the super populated areas... even then only some have WiMAX coverage. I just hope everyone realizes that before getting super excited.

I'm in Vegas
As long as it's at least 2MB+ I'd be happy. Better than this crappy 700kbps that I'm used to. Off peak hours go up to 2.3MB tho.

Is Sprint's unlimited data really worth it? | PhoneDog
That second picture is of a GS2 using sprint's WiMax and getting <1Mb down. Pathetic.
Does anyone know if Tucson, Arizona has good coverage?
Who knows what area that picyure was. As long as it's good where I'm at, I don't really care how the coverage is anywhere else.
It's not 4g that isn't in a lot of places, it's Sprint's 4g. I live in Louisville, KY and every carrier has 4g for this city but Sprint. My brother has Verizon, has it. Step-Dad has AT&T, has it. Older sister has T-Mobile, has it.
Fine... There's no Sprint WiMAX coverage... Sprint is way behind from every single other company... T-mo, AT&T and Verizon all have 4g (or their version of 4g) coverage almost every where you get signal with them... Sprint... not so much...
In that article they say it's in Charlotte. I'm willing to bet it's not much better anywhere else. Just saying.
I agree. 4G is "unnecessary"; it is more important to have the nicer devices (IMHO).
I'm a heavy web browser so data speeds are quite important to me. I find myself needing info when I'm on the go asap. As long as 3G speeds were consistent 1.5-2MB, I'd be content.
This may be a dumb question but will the motorola triumph be able to use WiMAX and if not can the devs do something to get the mt on WiMAX?

Thanks for the reply guys. Does anyone think if you purchase one of the new phones coming on or right after 5/27 that you can transfer your current grandfathered plan online via the VM dashboard and not by calling Customer service? Do you guys think that would work?
