MT3G - we almost have root

Would you mind elaborating? How do you know this and can it be confirmed?? Has someone cracked the perfect SPL? Has another hole allowing root been found? Have you found a way to OTA root to the phone? just curious...

The SPL has not been cracked just yet. A goldcard has been created through ADB, however, right now, the boot / recovery image is not working. We are looking for an original ION or HTC image. Once we have that, it should only be a matter of time. We are almost there.

can't you just get the origianl HTC image right from their site?HTC - Support - Flashing your Android Dev Phone with a Factory System Image and XDA had ION dumps floating around somewhere...

There's one image we cannot locate and this is really holding up the process. They had what they thought could work, but it did not. The ION system dumped yielded nothing of importance as of yet. It looks as though the image will need to somehow come from HTC themselves, kind of like how the DREAIMG was leaked for the G1.
