Everyone who keeps asking about the software, it is Sense UI with Android 2.1. So, if you really need to know, just watch some Desire videos on youtube.

Not sure on this but with the 6gb rom could there be a possibility that whoever sent the tip sent the free space since it ships with a 8gb card? Or is there a possibility that the sd memory can be combined or read as combined with the rom if they allow sd card apps? I really don't know if that is even a possibility just throwing it out there. I could see the 1ghz and the 1gb ram as a small possibility but 6GB OF ROM??

NKT- I'm not sure if you saw my question buried in all of those BS specs, so here goes: Is there anything that you are aware of that would lead you to believe that there is more than one version of this phone being tested by Verizon right now?

Thanks

NKT said it feels less than the N1 (4.59 oz) but I was hoping for a real #

Me too. Next time we'll berate him for not bringing a digital scale.:D

Seriously though, thanks so much NKT! See everyone, I told you he was alright.

Now, lets all catch up with all the new info before asking a thousand more questions about minutia. The guy has really hit a homerun for us but we don't want to wear him out before the bottom of the ninth (or something like that).

Back to my real request from about 20 pages ago: Can it do the laundry?:p:D

No, the 2 I know about are exactly the same.

At this stage of testing, they don't test different versions. The only different may be software. Hardware is pretty set. Keep in mind they've been working on this phone since the middle of last year with the final hardware signed off in Feb.

I figured that was the case with the info eminating from the same source that claims 6G ROM, but had to ask. Thanks.

No doubt this is an epic thread and after deciding to go with the N1 on VZW I have to admit I'm back on the fence. Only thing's that is keeping me leaning to the N1 is updates and the already known 1 Ghz processor. Not to mention the support from the dev community (sure the Incred will get supported too). Here's hoping it can handle Flash 10.1 and be rooted but I digress. Either way you slice it, Verizon is about to start making some serious ca$h on from it's new Android based devices!

Side note: You think we'll see some of the epic DROID style commercials?!

Sorry, must have missed it...

1. Yes, the back is very similar to the Eris.
2. Live Wallpapers are there. They look stunning.
3. Don't know what the N1 is actually running at. Hopefully I can get some more hands on with the Incredible to really push it and see how it performs. The short time I spent with it, it FLEW!
4. App menu is just like the Eris 2.1
5. Picture gallery is the same as the Eris 2.1 as well.
6. The optical pad was weird to use compared to a trackball. This is probably just familiarity with a ball. But an advantage of the optical is, no cruddy ball.
7. I hope to. Nothing set in stone. I tried to take advantage and gather as much as I could from the short time I had it.

thanks a ton!!!

What are the expected specs of the HTC Incredible now that we are closer to launch?

I read somewhere that it's going to have an underclocked snapdragon, is this true? and what about RAM and stuff, still expected to be 512mb??

Ahoy mateys:

I am an electronics engineer, and IMHO, 6gb of ROM is a ******ed amount. I wouldn't believe that for a second. As for 1gb of ram? Also excessive - Plausible, but unnecessary and unlikely.

BTW, thank you HTC! orangey-red cover changed to black? check. odd speaker grill changed to minimal oval? check. Hot red interior (that would look killer with a clear case)? check. 512 ram? check. good battery life? most likely a check (i totally support their decision to go 768mhz if it helps this area).

They took a phone I was willing to buy with some compromises and made it exceed ALL of my expectations. bravo. and THANK YOU NKT!!!

Have you read the past 10 pages? You might want to take a look because I think you missed alot.

If you feel lazy, then atleast look at the first post in the thread:rolleyes:

^^ 31 minutes between post 5438 & 5439! I was starting to think there was some kind of nationwide internet outage. Glad to see we are back to the 2-4 minute postings.

lol, apparently you haven't read the new stuff that was posted today. take a look at the first page of this post and you will see the latest and greatest specs. thanks to NKT.

Ahhh, never really realized they updated the first post when something new was posted.

Yea i was too lazy, i looked this morning and saw the pages in the 100's and was like **** and just decided not to read it. All i saw were the leaked pictures with the black back cover and i saw the silver/grey back cover and was like **** yes hahaha

Damn, underclocked snapdragon SUCKS!!!!

Someone will probably figure out how to overclock it back to 1GHZ. It is still the same snapdragon processor right as say the Nexus One?

Here's something to ponder. If the difference between the already known 1 Ghz processor on the N1 compared to the Incredible has you leaning towards the N1, you might want to wait and see which processor is actually in the N1 for VZW. Droidav8r stated above that the 8250 is GSM and the 8650 is CDMA. Because of that, it very well could be the N1 and Incredible have identical processors.

Let me go on record as saying I think that 6 GB ROM spec is a little crazy. Okay, a lot crazy! But think about this .... lots of phones have on board storage I can think of at least one crApple product that offers 8, 16, and 32 GB versions. So why is this so hard to believe? Also, isn't the Android team trying to work out some way to store more apps? On the other hand 6GB does seem like a weird number but this isn't the run of the mill OS we are talking about either. Just some thoughts and theories ...

6 is a weird number when talking about memory, unless there is a 1 before it...

I don't think I personally would know if it was underclocked, overclocked, or notice a difference one way or another in terms of performance.

With your last couple posts, all the questions you've asked have already been answered. Go back and read the last 10 pages....and no, it's actually a processor that's slower and an entirely different stock #, a less costly processor.
