Zv9 will block you from tethering. You are better off keeping what you have.

Yep. It does nothing beneficial that we have figured out. I personally prevented the OTA updating so that I can stay on 8.

There are ways to get around the blocked tethering on the zv9 update.
But as others have mentioned the update doesn't do anything beneficial for the device.
