Help Screen burn-in

sleedeane

Android Expert
I've had this phone only 6 months.
When the background is white, I can easily see the Swype keyboard "burned" into the screen.
Is this normal, and what should I be doing to curtail further burning?
I do use Swype a lot, and I keep the backlight as dim as possible.
Any thoughts?
I think its odd I've never seen another thread addressing this, like my phone is prematurely failing with this maybe uncommonly so?

Thank you
Appreciate it.

this, and have you left your screen on without shutting it off for hours, by accident or something? I have never heard of this, and I am a heavy user. I can't even imagine that happening unless you left the screen on overnight or something, and it never timed out...and even then it seems unlikely unless you did that night after night.

No, I've not heard of another case like this. What phone model and screen type?

Can you see the faint keyboard image?:

T-mobile's Galaxy S2 with the super Amoled screen.

This is only the second incident about screen burn in that I've read.
I use my phone more than my laptop and I don't have this issue.
Might be time for a replacement.

If this is a strong concern for you, then I would suggest getting it checked out.

Personally, I've never read of this issue before.

(P.s. I've moved your thread to the T-Mobile Galaxy S2 forum. :))

is that because you are viewing it on your phone? It's not on any of my computer screens... also, do you happen to have any type of screen protective film?

Yes, you're right. I'm seeing it because I'm looking at the shot from my phone. Quack.

No, I don't use a screen protector.

And the main man at my T-mobile hasn't seen this happen before (at least on an Amoled screen) either. But he's seen one now.
Thanx to warranty, my new phone will be here no later than Tuesday.

Glad to hear they're taking care of you! I asked about the screen protector just in case it may have been some kind of discolouration in the film from the light emitted from the screen. Good luck with the new unit!

Hi,
I have the Samsung Galaxy S2 device for almost a year.
I play a lot of Ezjoy Network games, and their logo is always displayed on the bottom of the screen. The logo is now permanently burned on my screen!
When the background color is light, the burn in is very clear.:(

From the above comments it seems quite hopeless. Very annoying, and probably nothing i can do about it, right?

Attaching example screenshots of Ezjoy Network games including yellow logo strip at the bottom. All their games have it - beware!!

Adding pictures of the screen in white background (taken with an external camera)

You say almost a year. Your 1 year warranty (plus $20 fee) should fix this.
That's 2 I've heard of now (they said they never saw it before mine)(mine was only 6 months old)(Samsung nor T-mobile has heard of it).
