Root Best simple 2.2 ROM

Is there a 2.2 ROM with all features working that is close to stock but without all the VM bloat apps? I've been on CM7 TG-Reloaded and am just not liking the remaining glitches.

Is Froyocream Sandwich v2.0 pretty stable and liked? I don't really care for themes but if I have to install a ROM with themes, I'd like to be able to switch to a stock looking theme.

Thanks

That's exactly what I was looking for.

Oh, fock. Now I won't be able to change my browser user agent or have incognito mode.

What issues with TG Reloaded are you having? I took over development of CM7 and have fixed a few problems already CM7 g60style. Right now on the newest build r0.3 which I am testing looks to have the proximity issue resolved.

Right after I started using R0.2, I started having bad battery drain issues. I am not sure if it is my battery or the rom. I am losing 10% an hour with data on/auto-sync off. If I turn off data, I lost 1% an hour. I have no idea how to tell what is causing it.

Wifi taking too long to activate.

The display staying dimmed too long after I unlock or after I end calls. Maybe this is a tweak I'm unaware of.

The display not responding for x seconds after a call ends.

Pretty minor stuff except the prox sensor issue...
The display turning off during a call after x seconds and not turning back on when I move my face away. That isn't such a big deal since I can press the unlock button.

But the screen flashing off and on during calls isn't cool. The mic gets muted randomly and people think the call has dropped and hang up before I realize it and turn mute off. Don't know if that's because my face is accidentally touching the mute button during one of the screen flickers or just a bug.

I hope this works out because I really like CM7 TGR so much better but can't live with the bugs anymore. Now if someone would fix the unresponsive soft key issue. ha ha

No, you dont need to install vm stock rom, just follow the instructions and you'll be fine :)

OK, I'd already tried it w/o restore to bone stock and it seemed to work fine except the screen after unlocking seems to stay dim for at least 5-10 seconds before brightening to normal. I didn't change any settings.

that shouldn't be happening, if it persists try reflashing the rom

Will ROM Manager not flash to 3.2? It doesn't list the Triumph when I try to flash it but it worked on CM7 TGR.

Not a big deal. I already like not having my phone screw up. The dimming doesn't seem as bad since I re-flashed.

This is not an actual rom. None of the system files were touched. No tweaks, no scripts. I can't take credit for "building the rom", I just removed some staff that annoyed me and replaced some apps. This is almost full non rooted stock with some exceptions.
Here's the list what's inside.

1. No virgin bloatware (none!) - I also removed them from hidden folders.
2. No Google apps - no maps, no street view, no gmail, no quick search, no tips, no voice search, no email, no gallery (not from google) Basically I did NOT touch anything that can't be downloaded from the market later. All the Google apps can be easily re-downloaded from the market and work with no issues. Please install quicpic or other picture viewer, or you won't be able to see any pics.
3. No start up animation boot - only motorola logo and android logo. No sounds on start up, neither at shutdown.
4. No Stock Launcher, replaces by Zeam. Sorry. The goal was to minimize the rom, and Zeam Launcher is the smallest.
5. No FM.apk - This is the only apk file besides google's and virgin's that was removed. FM doesn't work on Triumph anyway.
6. Latest Google Market app (Google Play)
7. No other keyboards except Stock 2.2 with working dictionary (credit goes to b_randon14)
8. Fonts from CM7 (Roboto)

At the end, as I said, none of system apps were touched - I even left Agingtool.apk, Batteryprotect.apk, GasGauge ... and etc even though I still don't know what they do.
This is not a really public release, this is something I did for myself as a back up, when I try different rom I go back to my own stock version.

The total size is 70mb, and it's fully working. Try it for your own risk. You've been warned.

Does anyone know of a minimal stock-ish 2.2 ROM but has an enhanced stock browser with user agent switch, incognito mode?

ETA: Yet another reason I like 2.2 over 2.3 is I like the old Android keyboard better.

Did you recalibrate battery after flashing? Thats pretty much the first thing I do once I get apps restored .

Why does it have to be a stock browser? Dolphin Browser HD does those two things.

I'll give it a shot. Looks like it's come a long way since the last time I used it.
As long as it doesn't FC like Firefox does a lot it should be fine.
