Help Took phone to be repaired... still broke but with different codes?

Itch

Hi everyone. Since I couldn't update my phone through Kies (original post) I took it to a phone repair shop and explained my problem. I asked if they could flash it to stock and would this fix the problem, they said yes.

So I got home and plugged my phone into Kies... firstly I'm still getting the error message in Kies... and secondly, all the info has changed when I do *#1234#. :( They said when they flashed my phone it would be fixed and I could update to ICS... but it doesnt work (Obvs because they haven't flashed to original firmware) and now I've got a code that when I type it into google it says its polish!

What do I do? Is my only option to flash it with odin? Do I need the original firmware put back on first?

Yeah the only way you will get kies to recognise your phone will be to flash your original firmware with Odin. But honestly I'd say if you are flashing back to stock just to upgrade to ICS you might as well just flash the ICS firmware with Odin and save a few hassles. If you let me know your carrier I'll try and find the latest ics firmware for you.

Thanks for the info... The man in the shop used this little device on my phone and now I have totally different numbers in the info bit. Regarding the carrier I'm with... my phone is unlocked to any network but I'm using a Three sim card in it. If I use Odin to put ICS on will it still be unlocked?

My 'version' info is totally different to what I had previously - e.g. my CSC number used to be XEU now its OXA - does this matter? The new details are;

pda - i9100xxki3
phone - i9100xxki3
csc - i9100oxaki3
android 2.3.5

I have done a lot of reading up on this but tbh it's more confusing than enlightening to me... I'm a bit thick! :o) Getting there slowly :D
