Root Stock++ random lockups

Ever since I installed stock++ I have been having somewhat random lockups...

It's happened quite a few times whenever I unlocked my screen then went to my messages, but has also happened a few times when I'm in dolphin browser.

I've also had a problem where sometimes I'll unlock my phone and I will just be sooooooo sllloooowwwww... Worse than molasses I swear.... This phone has given me nothing but problems lol.

Anybody have any ideas?

Most likely has something to do with the overclock not being stable on your particular phone's batch of CPUs. Install setcpu and set the max to something like 850MHz or worse case, 800, and see if that improves things. Do you notice the battery case (back of the phone) getting warm when you're dealing with the slowdowns or lockups?

It never really gets hot, unless I'm tethering. I always get the lockups when I simply haven't used my phone for a while, then I get on it and start doing a lot. It's never locked up during antutu, or any stress tests. Not even when I had it tethering and charging for 2 hours straight. Battery was pretty hot though, especially cause of the case.

I just limitted it to 850, will try it all day tomorrow to see if it still messes up.
Thank you for the advice.

Any idea on the random slowdowns? Is there any way to see exactly what started running on my Phone at what time, and how much CPU/ram it is using? I feel like its being cause by an app that I don't know is running/glitches out.

Well, you can hit the Menu button, and select 'Manage applications' to see what is running and how much RAM it's using, but as far as a moment-to-moment play-by-play, not so much.

Have you installed any build.prop/init.d tweaks? What are your governor settings in setcpu? There are multiple reasons for sluggishness after wakeup, and they usually point to some sort of tweak that is favoring running applications memory-wise, so if an app is idle, it'll deallocate it's memory, and when you try to bring the app back up, it has to reload the app's state into memory. Still shouldn't bring the whole OS to a crawl though.

Does sound like a rogue app to me, as I've never experienced the behavior you are describing, and overheating is usually a surefire sign of the CPU being pushed to it's limits. But usually when the CPU is failing, you'll just get a hard reboot, rather than a lockup.

Governor is ondemand, installed smurfed out and the 3G turbocharger.

Another thing about the lockups... When it happens, everything freezes, goes to a black screen, then shows the Samsung boot logo. Like its restarting, but obviously it's not. Then I hold the power for like 20 seconds or pull the battery.

Set setcpu to 850 last night, will see if that helps anything.

Hmm. Swype tends to work perfectly on my phone (yeah, the beta), so I don't think that's the culprit. Try going down to 800MHz (long shot) for a day and seeing if you notice any difference. If not, you've definitely got a rogue/buggy app.

I tryed adding swype to miui. It was a no go.

If setting it to 800 doesn't help, what could I do? Could it simply be a problem with the flash, or something wrong with some of my apps restored via titanium backup?

Is anyone using adwlauncher with stock++? I already uninstalled widgetlocker thinking it was that... Handcent?

Would there be any way to find out if it is a rogue app?
