I prefer not to give out any information about my source as they are usually uneasy about giving out info publicly as it is, they like their job :)

I have two g1's and a cliq.

I also have a nexus or a droid on the way from Google as part of their seeding program and I also hear all os us at IO are gonna get another device in May.

I use T-mobile and have been into Android since the beginning, good ole RC27 days....

Maybe, but those that got the DROID on release day might be 6 months into their contract, by the time the Incredible releases, and that means only 6 months until they can upgrade to the newer phone which undoubtedly will beat the Incredible......technology evolution is amazingly fast, but that's what makes it so amazingly good.

Definitely understand that. I was referring more to the ones that might have bought one recently due to the onslaught of Droid commercials lately.

Would you have any idea, if the multitouch bug from the N1 is the same on the Incredible? In other words, does the Incredible still use the Clearpad 2000 model for the touch sensor?

Not sure if there's anyway you could tell without ripping the device apart.

Edit: Or installing the multitouch app, where the bug can be seen.

How about a more generic question, like, has your source told you anything about his impressions of battery life?

Thanks

Thats a good question. Have you tried downloading the multitouch test app and seeing if the axis' flip like in the N1?

Edit: Just saw your edit:p

Yeah, but you should know as a consumer if something is being drastically reduced in price, you aren't getting the latest and greatest....those that think otherwise deserve what they get.

Dammit!! I leave to play one game of backgammon and all hell breaks loose!! ;)

Welcome Stericson!

Very true. I suppose 6 months after we get Incredible, there will be another phone on VZ for all of us lust after.

So I've been thinking, and I look at it this way.. going from a Droid to an Incredible will be good, but not life changing for me......

BUT... those people with an older non-smart, or barely-smart phone going to an Incredible wont care as much that there is something newer out 6 months later. For many, the jump to any new 2.1 Android phone will truly be incredible, and will likely keep them happy for their 2 year contract

You mean people like me, with my quasi-smart Storm 1?:D

Source says camera is good, you have to use the track pad to take pictures.

Battery Life:

My source says that the battery honestly Sucks.

But *** doesnt know if it is just how *** uses the phone.

*** Took it off about 11 and it is down to 27% now after browsing some music streaming and some other fooling around on it.

That was a direct quote from the source.

Source said it performs the same as it does on the Droid. Source says that it doesnt behave as the Nexus does. So thats a no for the multitouch bug.

Thanks! So what's your/your source's take on the rumor that there is more than one version of this phone being tested right now? Does it make sense that VZ might be considering slowing the processor down a bit?

Also, the $64,000,000 question- any insight on a release date beyond the "end of April, or May" that's been floating around?

Thanks again, and sorry for playing 20 questions; as you can tell, we are all pretty excited about this phone!

Source doesnt know if there are other versions being tested.

Maybe im late on this but will it have text to speech input in all text fields like the nexus? can it be upgraded or rooted to do this if it cant? if it can that will seal it for me!

The nature of open source OS's mean you're going to be able to root it....I don't think you need to worry about that.
