[rom] aokp

Today I wiped and then installed AOKP M5 and 4/29 gapps. Everything booted fine except none of the Google apps are showing up. I even tried re-installing them in clockwork, it says everything worked but when I reboot no apps.

Any ideas?

Is the Market not showing up?

GApps used to install things like Gmail and Maps and stuff, but since those apps are now freely downloadable from the Market, they don't come packaged in GApps any more.

If there's no market, then indeed the install didn't work - just wanted to check before you drove yourself crazy looking for, say, Gmail or Youtube.

So, "none of the apps showing up" should be "a few of the apps aren't showing up"? :D

Gapps are fine... my mistake not knowing Gmail, etc. aren't included anymore.

FYI... I used Titanium to restore apps+data, that was a bad idea... all kinds of problems.

So, I wiped again and re-installed. Then, when I used Titanium, I only batch restored apps w/out data. After that, I restored data to only the apps I needed (for instance... Amazon Kindle, etc.)

@colchiro please keep me updated about the G Nexus... it's my wife's phone and I'd like to keep her w/the best ROM!

Thanks for all your help.

PM me anytime

I still like m5 for my phone, but had to wipe for nearly all of the last 5 builds or so.

New radios are out that you can flash from recovery. There was a leak of 4.0.4 that looks like a test run so may be a real release this month. I restored stock to install that but just flashing the radios/bootloader essentially does the same thing. I have no problems with 4g so probably don't need that.
