Help GPS doesn't work

I have been using my GPS navigation successful for a month, but for some reason it is no longer working. I have checked to make sure the GPS location box is checked off in settings. It works just fine on my daughter's phone (Samsung Intercept), so it isn't a location issue. I am really frustrated that I am having so many issues on this phone already! Thanks for your help.

Many many phones (LG optimus V) are having this issue, my GPS lock is accurate to 13,000 meters which is 12,995 more meters than it should be. Some people have suggested uninstalling Google maps and keeping the stock Google maps and turning off the automatic update feature and have claimed it helps. I've gone as far as taking off the stock rom (android 2.2 froyo) and installing ICS (Ice cream sandwich) on it, not because of the gps issue but because my phones out of warranty and i hated 2.2 anyway, but still no dice, the GPS lock is still just as bad. With that being said with my case and everyone else having this same issue, if Google maps is not the only program not locking GPS (navigator, and other GPS calibration aps in the market) its definitely not a software issue but a hardware issue. Its like trying multiple mice on a USB port, then uninstalling and reinstalling windows before realizing its a bad port. As much as it sucks, the optimus models are cheap inexpensive phones. If you can I would use your warranty if it's still available. This is a known issue for these phones.

No, it's not. You have the OpV confused with the Motorola Triumph. :)

Generalyou...
I've never had an issue with my GPS even before I installed BACKside, and since I've been on these forums I've not seen that many (some, but not many) with serious problems with the GPS.

However, as a last resort if nothing else works (and if you are still under the 1 year warranty) I would see about getting another OpV by taking it back to the store you got it from (your best bet if you still have the receipt) or calling VM for a replacement (be sure they do not send you a refurb... push hard but nicely for a new one).

Agreed I have 3 ov's and never had any major issues at all including GPS. The only time I had to have one replaced is when camera button quit working on one. I am very hard on phones because I'm in construction but these phones are very durable. Been dropped and banged around and even dropped in water. As few days in bag of rice and it was fine.
