Root {PORT} Behold 2 Stock ( No Twiz w/ Root & Busybox )

Quick question, If I'm running the old, pre-update BH_MAN ROM, do I want the old install instructions or the new install instructions?

Thanks for all the hard work.

If you Download the Newest Release. Yes, You need to Follow the install instructions.

I know switching out the wifi driver is an extra step, but I'm not sure who's all running the New kernel.

The reason for this,
Each kernel has it's own matching .ko for wifi.

Any chance for somebody to upload original BH2 stock wallpapers? I miss those high reso pics.

Also how do i change wallpaper from the new updated ROM? Dont see that option?

Download the app called Wallpaper Set and Save. You won't be disappointed. There are a lot of hi-res pictures out there available to use as wallpaper. One good site is InterfaceLIFT: Wallpaper sorted by Date

Hope this helps!

Was there ever a solution stated for people who get stuck in the recovery mode loop where when you boot the phone it goes into recovery mode, gives you the exclamation icon and you hit "menu" and repeat? Do I have to ODIN back and start over again? I followed the directions line by line and waited for the pound sign.... I did get these errors when I typed reboot though:
Code:
bionic/linker/linker.c:1581| ERROR: 4319 could not load 'liblog.so'
bionic/linker/linker.c:1641| ERROR: failed to link reboot
bionic/linker/linker.c:1741| ERROR: CANNOT LINK EXECUTABLE 'reboot'
Edit: I should mention that I'm attempting this after receiving the OTA update.]]

Edit: Am I suppose to exist USB debug mode before typing "reboot"?

BH_MAN, this might be a stretch but is there a way that you can modify the rom so that you can unlock the behold simply with the visual unlock pattern (kind of like on the G1) and bypass the unlock button altogether? That would be amazing!

Also, is there a calendar .apk for your rom to have the full calendar show up on the home screen (like the stock behold rom) instead of just the little calendar icon?

No you don't have to exit debug mode before rebooting. Whenever I root with his rom, I actually just pull the batter to reboot and that works for me.

Also, for whatever reason, if you leave the battery out for a few minutes, sometimes that helps to get back on track.

So instead of typing "reboot" I should just pull the battery?

I already ODIN back to the stock firmware (though that unfortunately puts me back to pre-update.)

So before I try again, I was hoping to identify where I went wrong.

Should I bother waiting for the OTA update to be offered to me again?

Some questions I'm hoping someone can answer for me.

1.) I read elsewhere on the forums the newest ROM has the OTA update that's been rolling out. Is that true?

2.) If BH_man puts in the default Android dialer, can I still press and hold # to put the phone in vibrate mode? If not, can I reinstall the Samsung dialer?

3.) Does this ROM still have the cube effect on the homescreen, or is it the default Android with the wide, single wallpaper?

Thank you for any help. :)

Noob Question: Should i do the old install first and then continue with the new install if i am using stock touchwiz without the OTA update????

Swt thanks.

Also is the updated rom version 1 is rooted (the first uploaded custom rom)? Because Im having problem with a program call CacheMate. It requires rooted phone but doesnt clear out any of the cache.

Try rebooting, the SU (Root) seems to be somewhat flaky. Usually after a reboot it will get back in line although sometimes it takes two reboots.

Thinkin I will finally go with this but I have 2 Questions.

1. Is there a way to back up my Texts?
2. My Apps will be ok to Re download...Like say my Payed ones.

1. true
2. The newest rom has Samsung dialer
3. it is the default Android with the wide, single wallpaper

Re: #1: I thought that the OTA update was supposed to support .wma files and such. This rom does not, so that leads me to believe that the rom does not have the OTA update included. I may be wrong tho...

Hey BH_MAN... got a quick question. In the update notes regarding this recent update, they mentioned fixing the USB/SD card mounting/un-mounting issue. Well my wife's phone, which now has your most recent rom, is still having those issues. Is there a way I can check the phone to see if it does have the update?

I think I might have found my problem... I got confused by the red and blue *'s.
I installed BH2_No_Twiz. Should I have installed BH2_No_Twiz_UPDATE? Wow, that sounds like a dumb question after reading it over.
