Root {PORT} Behold 2 Stock ( No Twiz w/ Root & Busybox )

so... am i to come to the conclusion that... that the updated rom has the update included in it? or do i need to odin to stock.. update and then flash the new rom?

Supposedly the update is included. However I'm still having some issues that the update was supposed to fix, such as the SD card's random dismounting. Waiting for confirmation from BH_MAN.

I thought it did... but I'm still having the SD card mounting/unmounting issues again. That was suppose to be fixed in the latest update.

I wonder if I should ODIN back and try to get the update again? I'm kicking myself for using the wrong ROM in the first place. :(

You are not getting the updated kernel just the updated system. Most of the fixes are probably found in the kernel.
 
Regardless of whether or not the fixes are system or kernel... is the only way to get the kernel to Odin back to stock and wait for the official update?
 
BH_MAN: This is regarding my previous posts regarding sms/messaging not being able to select from contacts.

I tried it on my wife's BH2 and she has the same problem. From Home > Messaging (blue icon) > New Message -- there is not option to select from contacts still....only option is to type the number and if I press the textbox long enough, the only thing that shows is changing the input method. still no option to select contacts...

can you shoot me a screenshot on where the option to selct contact should popup form the new message window?

Thanks. Sorry to bring this up again, but I'm kinda not liking both handcent and chompsms. handcent does not allow me to rotate without affecting home (global auto rotate only)...and chompsms has bubbles and no mms from what i read.

Why dont you start typing the name of the contact and it shows the contacts beginning with the letters typed
 
I have a problem. There is an app called superuser in the ROM but when i start it, it does nothing.

The sd card mounting/unmounting issue has become less frequent but is still present. I thought this got fixed with the update???

I didn't realize that. Thanks. So that is the only way when sending a new sms? I cannot jut view which contacts to send to, like in the twiz messaging where there is a + sign that pulls up the contacts folder.

I know what you mean here. I didn't like my home screen rotating either, and when you disable it, it disables all rotating.

Not sure how you feel about purchasing a home replacement app, but I use Open Home ($2.99) and it takes care of this for you. It disables your home screen from rotating, but allows the other apps to rotate that were meant to rotate.

The default theme looks nice and comes with sweet widgets, but you then have the option of downloading many themes that suit your tastes.

With BH_MAN custom rom, you can turn on or off homescreen rotation by pressing menu button=>more=>extended=> sensor based orientation.

1. There are a lot of apps on the market that can do this .. MyBackup Pro, Titanium Backup, Gbackup
2. Yes, all your paid apps will show back up in my downloads when you log back in. I think with Titanium backup it installs all your apps + download links in Market, so you can get your updates.
 
Just a thought/observation, but I solved my SD card problem by switching to a Kingston brand microSD. Apparently the SanDisk card does not play nice with the Behold 2.
 
BH_MAN is there a reason why Better Cuts doesn't work with this rom?

I want to create new icons but it doesn't show up on Advanced Launcher.

I've heard this... but it really erks the cheap bastard in me that the SD card that shipped with the phone doesn't work.

What I meant was that when you try to create an icon using Better Cut ... for some reason, it doesn't show up on the home screen.I don't know if this is problematic of advanced launcher or the rom in general. Better Cut has always worked for me on any stock/home replacement in the past.
