I just preordered at Best Buy as an upgrade. I asked how much it was going to cost and he said he didn't know. There was no charge for a deposit and he said it was because they didn't know how much it was going to cost. The reservation receipt says estimated arrival May 18th.

My email confirmation says $699 though!

I was their first preorder and nobody else was even around at 10AM.

Best Buy has a deal going: Save $50 on any Sprint phone plus a $50 Best Buy gift card when you trade in your HTC EVO 4G. So $100 off. I hope their upgrade cost is still the $199 it usually is!

Yep, Pre-Ordered at BB. Didn't get in until 1pm and was the 1st person to pre order. #1 on the wait list. I went the BB route cause didn't want to wait on the mail in rebate. I did get the $50.00 off deal as well and May, 18th is on my invoice for pick up. "Woot!"

I was told by Sprint that I have to go to their Corporate store, because of the Sero plan I have and no 3rd party vendor/dealer can keep my plan the same while upgrading! They told if I wish to change my plan to the regular plans they have while upgrading those 3rd party vendors/dealers can give me the phone at a lower price then what Sprint has! WTF! Not a good trade off, off to Sprint I go!:(

I was told "around 600" whatever that means by the Shack rep. since I'm buying it outright. Sprint has it at 549.99....I'm thinking that will be the price at big box dealers on release day. It would just be odd that Radio Shack would have a different price than Radio Shack.

Like many others, my order status originally had a May 15th ship date but later changed to the backordered message. I believe this is because Sprint has not officially announced the release date.

When I spoke to an agent to confirm my ID he said that I would be guaranteed shipment arrival on either the day of launch or the day before launch.

When i was at Best Buy I mentioned this deal, since i even got thing in the regular mail telling me about it and specifically talking about getting the Evo LTE for $100 if I got it through them, but when i asked one of the people there today at Best Buy she didn't seem to know about it (and I had forgot to bring the pamphlet) but she believed me and didn't say it wasn't true.

Did the people at your store confirm this is a deal that they're doing in-store and stuff? I see that they're advertising it online now.

The 18th of May is probably credible for this main reason--Sprint does early upgrades (that is, 2 week early upgrades) once per month, and the date on which they do so is the 18th of each month.

My mom, dad, sister, and niece (sister's daughter) are all on my family plan account. When two of them wanted to do an early upgrade of 14 days before their actual upgrade date of the 1st of the month, the dates on which both of them were allowed to do the upgrade were the 18th of the preceding month. In both cases Sprint's Account Services department explained to me, "We process early upgrades on the same specific date each month, which is the 18th. That is the date we process upgrades and other related equipment releases."

So, with that information...

;)

Mine says the same thing the 18th. And I saw on good and evo that someone ordered from BestBuy online and estimated ship date says May 11th through the 16th. But I can't get my upgrade till May 18th which is 2 weeks early from June 1st.

my preorder receipt invoice from best buy says estimated release date is may 18th...don't know how to post a pic here, otherwise would've done so

I was told mine can get pushed up to May 18th also. They said I can call on may 17th and it will be noted on my account for the 18th or Best Buy said they can call Sprint on the 18th. But I was also told 2 weeks early is the most they can allow me to upgrade and mine was June 1st so May 18th is perfect for me.

im in the same boat. upgrade is due 1 june.

i called a while ago to sprint account services. homegirl i spoke with will push my upgrade up to 18 may.

the rub? she cant submit it until 6am CDT on 18 may.

best sprint can do is two weeks earlier than your scheduled upgrade eligibility.

so i went to bby and preordered as an UPGRADE and had to pay no money down. i posted an image of the receipt in the pre release thread and it states 18 may as an estimated date.

I'm mad cause I went into the AT&T store just too see my moms phone cause she wasn't hearing on it and she has an old flip phone. I also wanted to look at the One-X and I was late for an appointment and saw it looked at it real quick but didn't fully get to explore it like I wanted. I figured today while doing my Best Buy preorder I could play with one and they didn't have one on display.

I think im going to pay at&t another visit. Playing with the One X is addicting.

Thanks, called back and spoke with a guy in the retentions department. Pretty much as everyone else is saying, they can do a May 18 upgrade date. I took that date. I was told that they had 16,000 units in stock, don't know if that is true or not.

Was reading on other forums about LTE signals showing up but not being accessible, but was told (by retentions) that if a signal shows up it should be accessible.

I think the display phone is counting itself lucky :dancing2:

Went to the Att store today and the screen was gorgeous and the viewing angle was splendid! LTEvo your mines!

16,000 in stock? Send them out already.

That varies.

Most markets have that signal marked so you can't connect. That's on purpose as they go through testing getting ready for the turn on.

I'll just throw a suggestion out for people considering this --

Think about whether a $50 Best Buy card is worth it for you. There's still value in an Evo 4G (or any other Android phone you are retiring) in that, if you should lose, break, or have your phone stolen, you will wish you had a functional Android phone around to get you through however many days you need to get a replacement -- in other words, having a backup will not make you desperate!

I remember reading about someone in the forums here whose phone was lost in water a week or two ago... the decision was to either get the HTC Evo 3D now or wait, phoneless for a month for the LTEvo. I'm sure if he had a backup, that decision would be a lot easier to make.

I don't know if this important to people planning on Ebaying/Craigslist there OG EVO. BB is taking OG EVO in for trade when you pick up your LTEVO. Basically, totals out to $100 bucks. ($50 off + BB $50 gift card) The BB in Jantzen Beach, OR. (Portland, Or. Area) basically has nobody coming in pre ordering LTEVO. Old people still buying clamshell phones from ATT and clueless from what I saw. I went in at 1pm and was first on the list. So, if there are folks in this thread living in Portland, Or. and procrastinated on pre ordering, no worries should be plenty at this BB.
