I plan on keeping it as a backup phone mainly. Better backup than the ole Hero lol. Also every once in awhile I might find an event that might make for some nice 3D pics/videos.

Rooted and S-Off as well!!

zero. the clerk looked in the system, made a call as she did not know how to set it up since the phone does not require a down payment, then printed out my receipt and i received the e-mail of the entire transaction as i was standing there. no issues at all and i was #1 at the location i went to.

You had no issues pre ordering through best buy?

Well when i pre ordered the new EVO 4g LTE this morning at 9am on the dot.. I received 3 total e mails from sprint, the receipt for my order, then a reminder I had set for the pre order, and they also sent me an email stating that if you have ordered the HTC EVO 4g LTE( which I did) your order or a portion of your order may be on back order or on pre order and we will send your shipment out as soon as it hits our warehouse sorry for any inconvenience this may cause ...etc...etc.... So I'm sure It's there but to keep the official release date on the down low that's how they are doing so.. but then also on my Sprint Bill It shows a credit for the amount of the phone with a -$$$ so I'm assuming they billed me for the phone but witheld the $$$ at the same time until it 100% ships :-) anyone else seeing this same results? :-) I'm not worried I'm just anxious as I'm sure we all are lol I saw this thread was created so I figured I'd put my input/experience in on this matter so far :-)

Oh, strange thing, my Best Buy did require $50 down (which they gave back to me as a gift card to put towards the phone when I pick it up). I mentioned the no money down promo and no one, even the mobile manager, said they had heard of it. I didn't care as ultimately it's still going towards the cost of the phone anyway, but it was weird.

My status doesn't look nearly as encouraging as the May 15th one. My pre-order was placed at 6:09am PST. Has anyone else seen this message?

Thanks for pre-ordering a shiny new HTC EVO 4G LTE, an email will be sent the second it ships. The launch date for this handset will be announced in the next few days, thank you for your patience. Delivery should occur within 1 to 3 business days thereafter. You may continue to track the status of your order on this web page. If you have questions, check out sprint.com/preorder for more info.

1-3 days after the announcement of the launch date? Or after the actual launch date? The later would upset me a bit...

My order showed the May 15th date, but has now changed to match this. Looks like a little CYA to me.

Sprint billing is it's own mysterious deal - to me, anyways. :D

Anyhow, maybe this is helpful, I found it revealing -

Well after the Pre order this morning I am sure most of us went from will ship out on May 15th to being on back ordered to now "we don't have a release date, but will ship out 1 - 3 days after the announcement.

Well I checked our account and we had a bill due and the amount I paid this morning went towards that bill so I called Sprint just to make sure there would not be a problem getting the phone. I was told that the system will apply that payment to any amount due and then when the phone ships, your account will be charged the amount of the phone you are supposed to be paying example $199+.

Well just pay your normal bill and it will seem you have more credit, but it may not be a surprise later on. I also asked the rep that rocked and again just making sure there would not be a problem and she told me the order is out there. So I asked "so it's at the warehouse and they are just waiting on the word?" I was told yes and as soon as they get the word they will ship it.

Glad to know its at the warehouse just waiting for it to be shipped.

Hope this helps! :)

I'm not sure if I'm alone on this but like i stated earlier I have a credit shown on my Sprint Bill online for the exact amount I payed for my EVO 4g LTE. I hadto buy out of my original contract I had signed when i got the 3d evo last year and now I signed a new contract for 2years and purchased the EVO 4g LTE at $200 + tax... But I got an email stating it may be out of stock, or on pre order etc ..etc... But then like i said my Sprint Bill shows a credit for the amount of the phone although I payed for the phone with my bank card..I didn't apply that charge to my bill so I'm sure that's Sprints way of crediting us our $$ back if by some reason they had more pre orders than they had stock for at this given time...which i sure hope is not the case for any of us. I pre ordered mine the moment the option became available. So i geuss were stuck waiting lol once I find any more info il be sure to post it. Keep us all updated any news please do post il be checking daily thanks everyone! Good luck!

For those that don't know Marc as well as I - we're friends, I trust him, but he went through this exact same thing last year with his Evo 3D. I mean, I could basically copy and paste his post from last year! :D

I was uncertain first, too, but he then he pointed out the simple fact - they put it writing, they made a commitment. And I know that it worked out for him. I started trusting this sort of thing at Best Buy after that.

Just in case that helps any. ;) :)

Ja wohl.

Don't take what I'm about to say with any great authority, but -

I spoke at length to Sprint a few times today, working my way up the ladder each time (not sideways, not sales reps - up, and in a few different departments).

From what I could read by things said, they seem to have some upgrade preferences based on where you live.

So, the date going wishy washy tells me a few things - that maybe - MAYBE, mind you, this is me talking, not Sprint - they may have had a run on preorders, and demands for the 2-week rollback.

And they may be needing to prioritize supply against demand, with supply going to people who had straight early updates (not those of us getting June rolled back to May) - and they may want to prioritize delivery further by what markets will be getting Network Vision (3G upgrades and 4G LTE) first.

Just my opinion, just what I read into things.

Your mileage may vary. :) ;) ;)

This much was crystal clear to me as I went up the ladder - people have been working the pre-order situation since the weekend, and working hard.

The LTEvo is definitely in demand.

I just saw this message about 1-3 days thereafter when i went to check the status of my pre order as well...from my take on it,I'm going to go with the assumption they mean once the launch date is set(well set AS FAR AS WE ARE CONCERNED) It's probably already set they just haven't revealed it yet those sneaky guys lol... So once they go public with the official launch date I'm assuming that's when there saying we should receive our devices 1-3 days after they go public with the launch date..so if they say the launch will be the 18th for instance and they say this on the 13th for example I'm assuming that would mean we would see our devices either on the 14th-17th (1-3 days after the official public launch date is released) but that's just my opinion so let's hope we get it soon!!! I know I'm more than excited lol and I also plan to sell my EVO 3d back to sprint to ease up on the fee's for buying out my contract of two years to be able to obtain a new 2year + this phone, and buying this phone so the 3d will get me some $$$ off thankfully :-) :-)

I'm not a lawyer and don't play one on tv - but - I think this goes back to laws passed or increased in prominence from the early '80s. Back then, people were pre-ordering software and computer stuff (imagine the computer business back then!!) - and then getting stretched out forever.

So, as I recall, the laws became enforced that if people promised you something and you pre-paid, they had to deliver within a specific time - not six months or a year as was happening then.

So, personally, I think - think, mind you - that probably something similar applies here. They have to show the payment against your overall account (a credit, I guess), then when they ship, they'll debit that amount. If you cancel, or they mess up, both sides have clear accounting to keep it all straight.

Again - just my guess. ;) :)

My exact thought. Hence why there is a "credit" shown on my sprint Bill. I paid my bill earlier this month in full as always so that "credit amount" is the exact amount of the price I paid for the EVO 4g LTE so I couldn't agree more I believe that's why that credit is being shown.

I just went to the Sprint site to upgrade and there is a $36 activation, upgrade or other one time fee. Did you guys have to pay this? Don't they usually waive those fees?

I saw that fee as well but once my order was finalized that fee was waived on the receipt for purchasing online so i do believe you will not haveto pay that fee if you pre order online. I believe that's how that works :-)

I was 1st at my Best Buy this morning and he had trouble with mine and said since I'm not due till June 1st and I can get it May 18th it wasn't letting him put my preorder in the system. He even called Sprint and they said I had to go online and request something and do this and then I said I'm calling them back myself cause I was told preordering had nothing to do with me actually getting the phone on the 18th and that I could upgrade 2 weeks earlier and that was it. I was on hold for a long time but then another person came in to preorder and the other worker figured out how to make his work. He also was due June 1st and then it all worked out and he put my order in and it worked. I had a 100 bucks cause I was pre ordering 2 and I was told I didn't have to put money down neither but I did and got 2 x $50 gift cards. I was worried for a little bit that it wasn't going to go through for me. My friend he bought out his contract for 115 and his upgrade showed up. And tonight Sprint said if they by chance get it on the 15th or 16th at Best Buy call account services and they will work something out so I can get it then. But my receipt shows May 18th.

Since last year, that's part of the standard order. You can often talk them out of it if you have an account in good standing, but you have to talk to someone. In my experience.

Mileage varies, see 814's post as well.

The May 15th shipment message probably wasn't suppose to sent out yet because Sprint hasn't officially announced the release date, which is why it says, "The launch date for this handset will be announced in the next few days, thank you for your patience." now. One of the CTIA days the release date will probably be announced and you will get another email saying what it initially said about the 15th. Just a guess.

I also bought out my contract for $115 that's weird lol $115 for 2years left no joke cause when the 3d EVO came out I pre ordered that and still have it and have since day 1 but i hadto fight with sprint for my original 1year upgrade entitlement from the premier program that ended... But that extended my contract by 2years on top of the normal 2 that was now 1 left so totalling 3 years and 1 year later here I am buying out my contract and pre ordering the new HTC EVO 4g LTE today at 9am on the dot lol :-)

I did go through BB to pre order my LTEVO and hopeful that it is ready for pick up on the 18th. :) I was on the fence ordering online via Sprint or walking into BB to pre order. The only reason I went the BB route was because, I herd no word of a early release going through Sprints site, like they did with 3VO. I'll put in a prayer for you folks that went through Sprint online getting it on the 15th or earlier :) I look forward to hearing about how you lucky dogs got your LTEVO's early in the mail and how awesome it is :) (fingers crossed)

I had good luck by making a phone order and getting the activation fee waived. I did have to explore several options with them such as "so if I close my account since I'm off contract, then sign back up. . . I won't have to pay the $36 fee?" She then "talk with the manager" and suddenly I got it waived. That supervisor reminds me of OZ and I felt like Dorothy in my Ruby Red Slippers. It's all good though. :)

Does anyone know if, when I get El Tevo and install my apps, if my songs in Google music will show up when I download the Google music app? For some reason, since the ICS update on my Iconia tablet, Google music doesn't show up on my tablet or my laptop. But is shows up on my phone and works just fine there.
I shouldn't say that Google music doesn't show up.....it shows up, but my music is not there on my laptop or computer.

Thanks

For those who have the "credit" on their account. When I purchased my Photon through Spring the same thing happened to me. Except it stayed on my account like a month after I purchased the phone. My bill was showing $0.00 online for that month. Then the credit erased and I had to pay my bill....so if that happens just be aware it will go away and you will have to pay your bill. In hindsight I probably should have called Sprint because I foolishly hoped they had forgot something and I would get the credit applied to my bill...that didn't happen of course (and I knew better) but I still had a little hope.

Play Music should most certainly work with the Evo LTE.

If I may offer a few suggestions on your Iconia tablet(maybe you have tried this) First, go into Accounts and click on your Gmail account and make sure "Sync Google Play Music" is checked then click sync now. If it is checked already go into Applications in the settings menu find the Play Music app and clear it's cache and data. Then try to re-sync with your account. I have had some issues in the past with playlists created on my home PC not showing up on my phone. I would clear cache/data re-sync the app and it always worked.

As far as your laptop goes I am not sure what is going on? What browser are you using, and how many songs have you uploaded to Google Music using their up loader? I have logged into my Play Music account from dozens of computers and my music is always there. This is the first I have seen this are you sure you didn't accidentally delete your library in settings? I googled it and cannot find anyone with a similar situation from a browser

I just payed $149.99 through wirefly and will be getting $50 of that back through bank of america's add it up program. Sweet!

Personally I think months ago they slotted it for an early June release as time move forward and with the GSIII , Mo Pho, possibly a version of the Note all hitting around Summer they decided to bump it up to May and now with the LTE connectivity issues they are mulling whether to release it before a solution is found or push the launch back into June so a fix is already available at release.

Also just becuase it is Sprint and this is how they operate. If I remember correctly with my 3D they opened a soft unannounced pre order(That might have just been radio shack) and took another 2 weeks to give us a release date.
