Help Kies showing update available, but it's not updating

When I plug my phone in, Kies shows the upgrade to ics available. When I click the upgrade button, it asks me the questions about saving the data, then asks me about proceeding with the upgrade. I click yes and it says it's downloading the upgrade data. This takes a few seconds, which is shorter than I think it should take. Then it restarts kies and does nothing to my phone. Anyone else having this problem?

Do you have complete stock firmware and kernel? I mean have you manually updated anything using Odin? If not, then the problem could be Kies' interaction with certain apps on your PC or a million other problems Kies has. What country is your phone/provider?

Never used odin. Never done anything out of the ordinary to my phone. I'm in Canada and usong Bell.... any ideas?

Have you tried the OTA option?
