***Official HTC Incredible Thread***

On Topic: Does anyone know how long it would take for a 3rd party company to release a better battery for the Incredible based on other phones?

And do you guys think that the Incredible could be a game changer for personalizing your phone? (Custom back plates on the back with different colors and maybe images?)

Just thought i'd stop by to say all this talk about useless posts clogging the thread are in fact doing that, clogging the thread. Lets quit the thread clogging and post whoring and keep this on the Incredible.

On a side note, why the F is verizon being so tight-lipped about this if they clearly aren't marketing the Incredible. They HAVE to rely on word of mouth at this point if it is getting released within the next 2 weeks+. I guarantee you the traffic that goes by the verizon site will not be sufficient to get this phone selling like hotcakes.

So I ask, not so rhetorically, when should VZ have announced this? Last week? Last month? A year ago when HTC started designing it?

Yes, it would be nice, but it's not VZ's, or GM, Microsoft, Sony, or anyone's duty (or prudent business plan) to tell us what is coming next. Should VZ tell us what they're working on for 2011? 2012? The leaks we got are a bonus, not a right.

Also, you loose sales by letting everyone know that what they buy today is ALREADY outdated.

Has the Incredible been passed through FCC? I know the Nexus One has but not sure about the Incredible? Could anyone shed some light on the "FCC evaluation process" for phones?

I was just going to post that. Since when are companies obligated to tell consumers when they are going to release products?

and who says the Incredible is coming out in 2 weeks? That is far from being confirmed, so I'd say "clearly aren't marketing" is a bit of a stretch. Don't jump to conclusions until the announcements have been made. NKT already said the earliest they'll release the phone is April, which is more than 2 weeks away. Expect an April, or even May, release. Announcement possibly in the coming weeks.

Try around 119 to 125. 125 from NKT
Quote NKT:
Ok, did some more looking around at the docs that I have and I think I can confirm Stericsons 8gb onboard flash storage (ie Pre+):

Quote:
Device Vendor Memory Lockdown [Pooled Memory Required] ROM:512MB Flash+8GB moviNAND
RAM: 512MB

Memory (RAM, FLASH) ROM:512MB Flash + 8GB moviNAND RAM:512MB
So slap a 32gb micoSD in that bad boy and you got some serious storage! And I wonder if the means that Google is going to use the 8gb onboard for app storage. That would be sweet :)

And as far as weight goes, it is lighter than the N1
I think he was asking about the 1GB RAM, in which case you post would be discrediting that. It says 512MB of RAM in yours. I believe it was Stericson who said expect 512 but be pleasantly surprised if 1GB does come with it.. or something to that effect.

Actually I think NKT confirmed it with one of his posts he included a pic of the FCC barcode matching the FCC filing above.

Do you mean the one below that I posted

Read this in the Verizon forum:
There's nothing posted in Equipment Guide at work right now for either of the N1(don't believe the rumors) or Incredible. General time line is 2-4 weeks on Equipment Guide before we see the devices launched.
Don't know the validity of it.

I for one don't want to hear about someone's personal issues. I could not care less what kind of plan/phone situation you are in.

Posts like this is what clogs up this forum.

WOW! So re-post it again and clog it up even more...We don't welcome new people like that!

Yes. Just went into the wayback machine and found your original post. It was referencing one of NKT's original pics and it got them mixed up.

I also had that pic in post 297 which seems like a life time ago. That one is next to the nexus one. Back then could not tell if it was the incredible for verizon or supersonic for sprint with both companies using cdma. There has been video and pics released that pretty much confirm verizon.

Chill. Just drop it and move on. No point in bringing it up again.

No offense to Verizon employees but I don't think any of them are in the know.
Yeah that I agree. However, something like an equipment guide is not concealed. They can freely check that at work, and is typically used to learn the phone's ins and outs before they start selling it.

Hi Guys! This thread is Awesome! I came across it last week and had to join yesterday to get in on the convos.

So I see that the thread was getting off topic a little, maybe this question will help bring it back.

I am pumped about The Incredible coming out and the specs are siick!

Not being tooo tech savvy (although I have learned a great deal on this thread) I would like to ask you guys what this phone is really capable of doing??? Sure, it's fast and has an 8mp camera, but what REALLY excites you guys about this phone, that an average user may not be exited about???

Layman's terms please. lol.
Thanks!:D

True. I'm sure the phones have to show up in there some time before they are released. I don't believe however that the N1 will likely ever show up in the database since Verizon has no responsibility for the hardware. I think the only training that the employees with get for the Nexus One is how to make sure it's not a network problem and when to transfer them on to Google for support. As far as the Incredible is concerned I think our general concensus at this point is that it won't be available until sometime early April (I wish it was sooner too) at the earliest. That would jive with it not being in the guide yet and confirm that the release is still a few weeks away. I would think they wouldn't have it in the guide until they've completed field testing as well.

You guys think we will get anymore leaked pictures or video between now and March 23rd or do you think it's going to slow down quite a bit?

Exactly my thoughts, which seems to pretty much confirm NKT's speculations of an April/May release, and most of our speculations of the N1 being sold through Google only. I'm sure the latter is going to disappoint a few. Luckily, the Incredible will be my phone of choice, as I'm on a family plan, which means I'd have to pay the "higher" discounted price on the N1
