Can you still use Google Wallet on a rooted device? I used it with no problems before rooting and flashing LSv1.35, and when I added my Google account after flashing all my money was still on the prepaid card but I have a banner up top saying unsupported device. I have also read somewhere that its possible to brick the secure element by flashing a ROM? Deeming the service unusable I'm guessing... I'm not too knowledgeable about that stuff so any input/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I'm using it on a rooted phone with a custom rom. One thing I do before flashing a new ROM is unlink any cards and uninstall GW.

For the secure element thing, I "think" that may have been fixed with one of the Google GW updates. I haven't heard of anyone getting it in a long time.

That said, hopefully others will chime in, the above is just my experience, rooting/roming carries some (even though it may be small) anything you do is at your own risk.

I have flashed several different roms without problems. I don't even unlink my Google wallet account. Since Google fixed it all works fine for me. The banner at the top is just a warning for rooted users. It all works fine. Oh and I am on liquid 1.35 now. Great rom.

I've been backing up my Wallet with TiBu every time I have to wipe. Any thoughts on if that's a bad idea or not? It keeps me from having to go back through the hassle of using the market install trick.

I do that, Last time I trouble with the the "trick" so I just used my TiBack-up.

With the latest wallet update I had to uninstall Google wallet and the re install it. Then I had to deny wallet root access. This got rid of the banner and it works again.

i thought that the banner meant that it is unsupported, but that it still works

like a "use at your own peril and don't come crying to us when your money gets stolen" type of thing
