Root Camera stopped working. Still pictures ok, wont record video

Not sure why or what happened. Nothing has changed on my phone since the last time I recorded a video but now it just will not work. I press the record button but nothing happens. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Stock rom on 2.3.4

Edit:
Ok, little update.

Set to MMS (low, 30s) and low (30m) mod, the camera will record video but not set to high or YouTube. I currently have 1.41gb of free space on the SD card so I don't think lack of storage space could be why that's happening. So the camera app does seem to be working, just not those two options.

Ideas? Could I have accidentally deleted a folder on the SD card that's needed for those higher files or perhaps it's something in the build.prop?

No luck with replacing camara.apk and camara.odex. Will the pre-rooted .tar wipe my settings, apps, and theme from the phone or does it just add all of the stock apps back on?

this happened to me in monsteria++ ..... and i just install a new rom and the camera worked.... (Lunar Gen):D

What specs is the phone? I can tell you I had this problem on stock++ I just wiped everything and reinstalled a rom/kernel and w/e else you want..

When in doubt restart from the beginning...

My advice is once you get your phone where you want it make a backup in CWM so you don't have to start from the beginning...

Hmmm and your wiping everything in cwm?
Wipe data/factory
Clear cache
Advanced>Dalvik?

Also go to advanced restore and clear system, data, and w/e else is there...

Started over from scratch, camera still will not record in YouTube or High quality.

Hardware issue? Build.prop issue? Is there something on the SD Card that's needed for that to work?

Did you format system on the way? Might be a HW Failure, Format System, Data, cache, sdext. Wipe cache/dalvik. Wipe battery stats, and flash a new rom.
And then try to watch an HQ vid on yt

Do you just post random shit without reading the posts first? Two posts above yours I said I was formatting that stuff.

Come on man! Read a little.

As i said the above post try Fast burst camera. Does it take pictures? Or will it just FC? If it doesnt take pics hw failure prob. Has your phone fell recently before this happened? Or anything else happening that would've damaged your phone?

Yes, it takes pictures. I do believe I've stated that (you know, like in the thread title you don't seem to be able to read)...just like I've also stated that it records video in low and MMS modes, but will not in high or YouTube modes.

No, the phone has not fallen recently. It's in a good shock absorbing case anyway.

Fast Burst Camera will not help any. Why tell me to install an app that doesn't record video when my problem clearly is the phone not wanting to record video under high and YouTube settings?

Phone restarted today and now Camera is not installed on the phone. Camera.apk and camera.odex are still in the /system/app folder though, so I'm guessing there's just a software problem.

Any way to get this to install again or do I basically have to start over...again?

Delete the camara apk/odex and get it from a system dump and put it back in again. Never know what could've happened, maybe the apk/odex wasnt signed correctly, or probably a weird error.

Now do please tell me how to install the damn thing.

Anyone other than SamsungAdmire wont to try and lend a hand? Would be nice to get some real advice for once.
